The little town of Pemberton is launching a music festival in a big way this summer.

The first Pemberton Festival will feature major acts like Coldplay, Tom Petty, Nine Inch Nails, Jay-Z and dozens of other musical acts over three days.

Other acts at the event, produced by music powerhouse Live Nation out of L.A., include the Tragically Hip, Flaming Lips, Death Cab for Cutie, Interpol, My Morning Jacket and Buck 65.

Pemberton is a small community two hours from Vancouver close to Whistler. It will host the festival village as well as offering camping and RV sites.

Tickets go on sale March 28 for the festival, which will run Friday to Sunday, July 25 to 27. Three-day passes will start at $239.50.

me? no Vancouver. So it's about... 2-3 hour drive. Can't wait!!! Although I only really wanna see Coldplay, Jay-Z, The Hip, Flaming Lips, Death Cab, Interpol. Although i'll still watch Tom Petty, maybe NIN (even though i hate them), Morning Jacket, Sam Roberts, Metric, Crystal Method and Buck65 just because i'm there and i'd be interested to check them out.

what's stopping you from coming? Plane ticket is only a couple hundred bucks, and then you don't need a hotel because you'll camp.

yeah, you're probably looking at 8-10 hours. The last stretch though is one of the most scenic drives in the world. Many car commercials are filmed on it. (Sea To Sky Highway). It's also called the Sea To Die Highway because of all the accidents.
