I agree with the OP, Freddy Mercury is definitely #1 in my book. BUT! I'm sorry, I love Rush but Geddy Lee does not have a great voice IMHO...

I've been trying to add some different ones that I didn't see in any other lists, but some I do have a lot of repeats. They're unavoidable - some singers just deserve another mention. I figured that my list, temp100's, tripb's and maybe one or two more would be more or less identical. And I agree with Brad Delp, great voice.

Randy Blythe (isn't the greatest by any means, but complements the music perfectly)
Tommy Rogers
Love Akerfeldt and Gildenlow and totally agree with your opinion on Blythe...his shrieks sound so good with the heavyiness of LoG's guitars and drums...
And being the BTBAM fan I am, I'm kind of ashamed I didn't mention Tommy Rogers....he's not the best but I would definitely give him an award for most improved. His clean and growling vocals have both drastically improved from their S/T debut album to Colors...it's awesome he does the death vocals and then switches it up in an instant to something that sounds like Queen or The Smashing Pumpkins

1. Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden/Solo)
2. Ronnie James Dio (Elf/Rainbow/Black Sabbath/Solo)
3. Geoff Tate (Queensryche/Solo)
4. Hansi Kursch (Blind Guardian/Demons and Wizards)
5. Jack Black (Tenacious D) <-- yep that's right. I think he has a really underrated voice, perfect for their style of songs.

I'm thinking:
5.) Geddy Lee (Rush)
WRONG. Geddy Lee has one of the worst voices I've heard in a while.
However, I would suggest:
Rody Walker of Protest the Hero.
Claudio Sanchez of Coheed and Cambria.
Dallas Green of Alexisonfire.
Tommy Rogers of Between the Buried and Me.
Maynard James Keenan of Tool.
Gordon Downie of The Tragically Hip.
Aaron Weiss of Mewithoutyou.
Johnny Cash.
Chris Cornell.

That's like saying the Lord of the Rings movies were similar to Garden State. They both have talking in them.
The only similarity is the pitch, they both sing high. But Geddy Lee sings so nasally, and awkwardly, and out of pitch often. Claudio is amazing, very talented. And Puerto Rican, he's got an accent. And he's also an amazing guitarist.

Owens is a good singer. He just happens to sing for bands when they can't get their shit together and write a good tune.

Uh huh....right. I'm not the biggest fan of his music but when it comes to voice and tone, Jovi is miles above Geddy Lee. In fact, who isn't? Geddy Lee sounds like at a young age someone brutally punched him in the balls and he never recovered. To make things worse, the face matches the voice.

Yeah Serj has some pretty wicked vocals, as for Chris it's kind of a thing where you love it or hate it or something a long those lines.
I don't remember his name, but the original vocalist of Drowning Pool had a pretty cool voice, shame he passed away.

Sebastian Bach, fuck that guy rules, he's got some intense sustain, like one of the songs he does in his new albums he holds the note around 30 seconds. I also really Like Devin Townsend, Don Dokken, Tim "The Ripper" Owens, Jani Lane, and I just had a brain fart, so the list got cut short.
