Ace Combat? Don't know if that's for PC, too.

For spaceships combat, with 2d graphics(the gameplay wouldnt work in 3d, give it a chance) download http://www.trenchwars.org/ at start of the game go to the trenchwars server

Players have been playing for 10+ years, expect it to be as hard to become the best on this game than any new game.

PLENTY of games and leagues, 1vs1 - 5vs5, even 8vs8 basing(capture/hold flag) games. randomly hosted games that are real fun too, such as racing, hockey, huge deathmatches with 30+ people on each team, and many more that cant be put into words.

if you like a free game that requires tons of skill, try it.

if you only like the new current popular game with best graphics go fuck yourself.

I'm assuming you want realistic here.

Lock On

Pacific Fighters

World War II Online has great air to air combat. Then once you have air superiority you can start strafing/bombing ground targets that are actual people. If you get with a well organized squad you can have a great time. This is probably the most fun I've ever had with a game btw. Just chillin in ventrilo with some people for a 20 minute flight to the actual combat knowing that a rogue bf109 can swoop in and take someone out at any second is awesome.

If you want to try something completely different, look into Space Cowboy.

It's a cross between your typical Korean MMO grind, and Starfox. Take that as you wish. If you like MMOs, the grind, and Starfox style flight combat, you'll love this game.

I seem to remember something about a name change or something, so it might involve some research, but it's fun enough to blow a week or two on. And the PvP is actually pretty great.

I played space cowboy and he's right. Good for about a week, and that's only if you're playing with friends to keep it slightly interesting.

Yeah, then you either want Lock On or Falcon 4.0 Allied Force.
