Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. announces its long-awaited return to console gaming with World of Warcraft: The Molten Core™, a spinoff of the 40-person raid dungeon from its award-winning massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), World of Warcraft®. World of Warcraft: The Molten Core will allow players to experience the excitement of the hit raid dungeon in a completely new format, with new challenges and new rewards.

"Blizzard got its start in console gaming, and we've always been excited about returning to this arena," stated Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. "Additionally, we've wanted to reintroduce the 40-player raid dungeon experience for some time. With World of Warcraft: The Molten Core, we're able to do both."

Pretty good graphics for a dumbed down console game.Happy April fools day.

Oh man Blizzard rule so much.

Lol they havent released a game worth playing in atleast 5 years.

Sorry but i HATE WoW i tried it out and got to about level 25 when i decided it was a load of repetitive dogshit.

Warcraft and Diablo ftw, Blizzard would rule much if they made a Diablo 3, but that isnt going to happen.

And why do you find what i said funny ? That Blizzard havent released a game worth shit in the past 5 years ? because warcraft and diablo were released longer than 5 years ago. Blizzard WERE the shit, now they ARE shit.
EDIT: Maybe your saying Diablo and Warcraft are repetitive dogshit ? perhaps nowadays yes, but in there prime they were far better to play than WoW.

Papero, 10 million sheep of course, WoW did nothing new, they just took a popular theme like Warcraft and made an MMORPG, most MMORPG are made by random unknown developers and have next to no advertising in some places, who cant even contest with the money blizzard has. Age of conan and dark fall are going to blow WoW away though IMO. I really wish the WoW guys just closed down all WoW servers and announced WoW no longer exist, just to see the pain of 10 million!.

They're repetitive, they always have been. It's not different today, they didn't suddenly just become repetitive. Nothing's changed.

Ah, the classic response.

"Since everyone else likes it, everyone else are sheep."

Newsflash asshole, Warcraft and Diablo both did nothing new. It was the same stuff that had already been done, and in Diablo's case, had also been done better (of course, this is up to debate, but it definitely had games that preceded it of the same concept with more features). They both simply popularized they're respective genres.

Diablo is actually so repetitive, that they not only throw the same exact gameplay at you throughout the entire game, but after you finish it, you repeat it all!

Blizzard didn't do anything new when they made WoW? God damn, your whole post is so full of misinformation and pure fail I don't know where to start. So I won't.

Technically he's right, they didn't do anything new with WoW.
Who fucking cares?

WoW became an instant success. They did something new with the MMO genre as a whole, by bringing it into the mainstream, just like Halo did with FPS's.

That was my exact point with Diablo 2. It didn't do anything new or revolutionary, it just took the concept behind the roguelike genre, dumbed it down a bit, added hack and slash gameplay and a simpler interface, and released it. It was a winning formula that was addictive despite being ridiculously repetitive and tedious.

Games are repetitive. That's how they work. It's extremely difficult to make a game that's always new and fresh. Good games hide the repetition by making the player focus on other things. Some do this with humor (Armed and Dangerous), while others do this with tangible rewards (RPG's with a skill system and leveling up, Zelda and Metroid with new shiny toys, or games as a whole with different places to look at as a distraction to the fact that it's the same stuff.)

Arcade style games can break that rule, simply because the constant frantic gameplay is distraction enough. If the player is constantly on edge and excited, that in itself is plenty to prevent the player from realizing it's just the same stuff again and again (Geometry Wars for example).

Different people are interested in different things. And different gamers will be attracted by different things.

The argument 'i dont know where to start so i wont' isnt proving anything, why waste your time posting at all? just makes you look like an arrogant twat.

What new things did WoW do then ? technically ? everything in WoW has been done in one way or another beforehand, maybe some of you enjoy the game but i dont and im allowed my own opinion, WoW is simple as shit.
And yes tell me you think WoW was the first MMORPG ? Ultima Online pretty much created the whole MMORPG genre and even to this day 'IMO' kicks WoW's ass, perhaps not the official servers but there are still custom servers which replicate the old school ultima online, which was great. I really want to know what 'misinformation' i have spoken. I agree that Diablo 2 is of course repetitive, thats why i cant play it anymore, but for me Diablo 2 was one of a kind, just a perfect game at the right time, i'm tired of all the WoW fanboys getting so defensive when most of them don't have a clue what they are on about. WoW is only so popular BECAUSE it was made by blizzard, named Warcraft and was very advertised, like being pummeled in the face with a brick, so you dont forget it. It really is one giant bore fest and offered me no fun like Diablo 2 and Ultima Online did for a long time.

WoW is simple? Do you mean easy? Sure, I could agree with that. WoW is really easy. That's probably why it's so successful. It's accessible to anyone and everyone. You don't have to be a gamer to be able to learn to play WoW.

Technically? That's a new thing WoW did. It's an MMO that anyone can learn to play fairly quickly, and at the same time, it also has content for hardcore players.

And yes tell me you think WoW was the first MMORPG ? Ultima Online pretty much created the whole MMORPG genre

Sorry to cut you off here, but that is incorrect. The creator of Ultima Online coined the term, "Massively Multiplayer Online RPG", that's true. But the actual first game that could be called an MMORPG would be "Islands of Kesmai". There were a few other MMO's between that and Ultima Online, but Ultima Online was the first with any notable major success.

and even to this day 'IMO' kicks WoW's ass, perhaps not the official servers but there are still custom servers which replicate the old school ultima online, which was great.

Funny... you seem to spout a lot of nonsense. I enjoy WoW because it's fun. Pretty simple.

WoW is only so popular BECAUSE it was made by blizzard, named Warcraft and was very advertised, like being pummeled in the face with a brick, so you dont forget it.

Really? You really think that? Well that's a stupid notion.

I don't care who made it, what it was called, or how much it was advertised. You can take a turd named Jesus from the Bill Gates, and create a multi-billion advertising campaign for it, but it's still a turd in the end.

WoW is popular because the people that play it enjoy it. The factors you mentioned may have gotten them to try it out, but it's definitely not why they still play it.

It really is one giant bore fest and offered me no fun like Diablo 2 and Ultima Online did for a long time.

See, you're still missing the entire point of everything. You're sitting here bashing a commercially successful game because you don't like it. Congratulations! You have an opinion!

You spend an awful lot of time being a moron about something you have no concern for. Did World of Warcraft molest you or something? Really, anybody with an iota of common sense would simply have glanced at the thread title, thought to themself "I don't like WoW", and moved on. Of course, you've already made it blatantly obvious that common sense isn't a commodity that you have access to.

The best thing you can do at this point is try to pull together whatever shreds of dignity you have left, and ignore this thread from now on. I've pointed out your misinformation, now call me a fag or whatever, and move on little troll.
