Coolest April fools joke ever.

Believe it or not, it actually kind of makes me want to see a real Zelda movie. Don’t get me wrong, the trailer is campy as fuck...but I've seen worse pitches, and it already beats the shit out of Uwe Boll’s latest train wreck.
It makes me wonder what the movie would be like with: some actors who can actually act, better production values (cinematography, visual effects, costumes, etc.), a more experienced director, and a lead who doesn’t look like a slightly less deformed Michael Jackson.
Heck, it couldn't be worse than Eragon.

It really was awesome. Why wouldn't you try to get a couple here with it though? Quick! Edit!

I thought about that, but no...besides these things that some gaming websites/magazines do I've always thought April Fool's day was pretty stupid. Maybe I'm no fun...but that's just the way I feel.

I recommend reading the comments though. It's hysterical how some people seem to have actually fallen for it.

Why does it have to say "April Fools"? I'm sure you're probably being facetious, but in case anyone out there actually thinks there's a chance this could possibly be real then ask yourself "Who's producing this". The answer, according to the Trailer, is IGN Entertainment. Don't you think there'd be a logo from Fox, WB, Universal, or one of the major studios if this was going to have a theatrical release?
Also, if you go to Rainfall films official website (the production company IGN worked with), on their website credits they list it as " The Legend of Zelda: Teaser Trailer". If there was more then why would it be listed as a "Teaser Trailer"? If they were working on a full length film then they would simply list it as "The Legend of Zelda".

That's a lot of work for a prank. It looks better than some real movies....

That is one thing that is screaming out to be made into a movie. For fucks sake. That and castlevania

^Actually, there is an actual Castlevania film in production. Unfortunately, it's being written and produced by Paul "worth shit" Anderson...and apparently being directed by the guy who did "Stomp the Yard".

A good videogame movie will happen eventually, but I really wish they didn't have to butcher so many franchises before Hollywood would finally give one of them a serious chance.

Thats a sweet trailer for an April Fools joke, really. Not saying I'd actually like to see a Zelda movie (a real one would be destined to suck horribly, IMO) But that trailer was pretty cool.

It would probably help if they let the writers of the games have a stake in the writing the damn movie. I feel like the people who make all these shitty adaptations just look through a bargin bin at Futureshop for shit that looks cool.

When I saw the trailer, it actually reminded me of the Dungeons and Dragons movie, which is right up there with Eragon in worst fantasy movies ever made.

The first moments I watched it I actually thought it could be real and I was hoping it wasn't because it looked incredibley cheesey although very well produced.

Now if a Zelda movie were actually to be made and say... Peter Jackson was directing it or even Guilermo Del Toro, I'd definetly go and see it.

I hear that Uwe Boll is doing a FarCry movie...it's not looking good guys.

Nobody thought Silent Hill was a good movie ? I know it wasn't an exact adaptation, but I thought overall it was pretty well done

Well, I’m all for the people who created the game being able to have creative influence in how the movie is developed, but there’s a reason why you hire a screenwriter for your movie, and why developers don’t usually hire Hollywood screenwriters for their games. It’s the same reason why, even if the adaptation is faithful, filmmakers don’t always have the author of a novel do the screenplay. They come from different writing philosophies, and they’re both usually better off sticking in their own fields.
I really am sad that the Halo movie went nowhere, and that Metal Gear Solid is going the direction it is; because they both had the right idea. Bungie went out and hired their own screenwriter who wrote the screenplay based on their ideas and creative direction, and then they pitched it to the studios...who pulled the plug when they demanded enough money to make it good. Metal Gear Solid had a draft that was written by David Hayter himself who’s done the voice of Snake for years now, and wrote both of the first two X-men films...and it was rejected in favor of something else.

When I saw the trailer, it actually reminded me of the Dungeons and Dragons movie, which is right up there with Eragon in worst fantasy movies ever made.
I don’t disagree with you. At the risk of jinxing myself; I’m just saying that with movies like Eragon and Dungeons and Dragons I think we’ve probably seen rock bottom. Especially now that we’re post Lord of the Rings, which every fantasy movie will wisely copy now for the next century or so.
I’m not saying a Legend of Zelda with better production values couldn’t suck. In fact there’s a damn good chance it would suck a whole lot. I’m just saying that we’ve seen how bad it could possibly get...and I think it’s worth the risk.

Nobody thought Silent Hill was a good movie ? I know it wasn't an exact adaptation, but I thought overall it was pretty well done

I loved the set design and the overall atmosphere, but the script was lacking something I thought, the acting besides the lead was meh, and some of the visual effects near the end were dicey.
I'd call it an average movie overall...but they could do much better.
