I choose my wireless network, enter the WEP password, test it for Xbox Live, and then then the IP fails. Can anyone help me with this? I allow it on the router, but it still does not work for some reason.

Are the settings set to automatic or manual? I actually got the wireless adaptor today too and tried setting it up. I can get the IP to go through its the DNS test that I always fail.

They're both automatic.

Did you ever try to enter any of your information manually? Like PPPoE settings, or IP? If you did, you have to erase that stuff. That's what was wrong with my girlfriend's connection when I fixed it for her.
Just a suggestion.

try getting a static ip (manually put everything in) not automatic.. it can solve many many problems, also, write the ip's of all your comps down on a sheet of paper to save you stress figuring other peeps ip's... not only that, write down your dns server etc...

Okay, nevermind about all that other stuff. It fails at the IP part and it says,"Unable to negotiate a lease with DHCP server." I've been googling up stuff and a few others had the same problem. One or two people answered two different people with the same question saying,"You need to setup a bridge," or something like that. Anyone have a clue how to do this?

Yeah I have close to the same problem (DNS failed). I really don't know what to do at this point. I never thought it would be this hard to setup a wireless connection.

At least your farther than me. :(
Well, I kinda figured out the IP thing. I put my wireless connection on shared, but then the internet doesn't work on this computer anymore if it's shared. Any suggestions?

Go to your modem settings and turn on bridged ethernet. You also should check your router to make sure all the ports are fowarded.
Your IP will fail if you enter in the wrong WEP. Temporarily disable WIFI security and try again. Unless your a networking pro, don't even attempt to create a bridge...from the sound of things your not a networking pro.
Edit: Your router may be MAC protected, try entering your PC's MAC adress into the XBox. Go to Network Settings, Advanced Settings then Enter an alternate MAC adress. Put in your PC's MAC.
Go to this page and it will give you a step by step guide.

Okay so I finally got it to work, heres what I did. When your under the network settings click on the "restore to factory defaults" then got to "edit settings" enter your WEP key then test your connection. I manually entered a lot of stuff and i think thats what fucked me up. Let me know if this works for you.

Yeah, I already have everything on automatic. :l Congratulations though.

I would still restore to factory defaults. It may be trying to connect wired even though it says wireless. After you do this, power cycle both your router and modem for 3 minutes. Make sure your modem doesn't have a battery back-up.
WAIT hold up....Where you able to get it (console) connected to the network but the PC woln't connect to the network at the same time? If thats the case I have no idea, call India for some router support, It's prolly just a stupid setting on your routers home page but still power cycle before you call them.

yeah. the IP fails, but it's connected. won't let me go on live though.
Ive never heard of an IP failing but the console still being able to connect to XBL.
If you have DSL make sure your PPPOE is configured correctly.
Did you try entering an alternate MAC adress?

How do you know if your PPPoE is configured correctly?
Go to network settings, advanced settings, PPPOE, doublecheck those settings with your ISP. ONLY IF YOU HAVE DSL
EDIT: Ill be online for 15 more minutes or so.....
Please to give us an update bangarang. The whole video games section is genuinely concerned with your plight.
