lately xfire has been really shitty for me and i simply quit using it, instead i opted for steams superior friends system, which is similar to xfire. lately i discovered that i can use steam chat etc. on games that i haven't purchased from steam.
it's really easy and if you can't figure it out i made a quick tutorial thats pretty much idiot-proof.
1. Get Steam here (http://www.steampowered.com/v/index.php)
2. select the games tab on the top right of the steam menu
3. select "add a non-steam game to my games list..."
4. select games...
5. ???
pretty neat feature.
