Awhhhh yeahhhh boooooy!
Is anyone else going to watch it? I'll try to if I don't forget haha.
The Office is just a funny show. Comparing it to like Scrubs, Scrubs is a better show, but The Office is much funnier.
I miss Michael :(

I prefer The Office to Scrubs. I don't really find Scrubs all that funny.
Can't wait for The Office!

Yeah, it's not just The Office that's back. NBC's whole thursday night block is back. The Office, My Name is Earl, Scrubs, 30 Rock and E.R. are all new tonight. Looking forward to a nice night of tv.

Scrubs completely lost it's touch after a while. The show is just annoying now.

I'm on season 5, so I'll see what happens in the next seasons. But yeah, it's getting a bit old now haha.

How the hell does that?...

Did anyone else think all the NBC shows were pretty bland (didn't watch Earl).
30 Rock was the best of the three, but not nearly as clever as past episodes. Alec Baldwin was still perfectly hilarious, but the rest of the characters didn't do much, and quite a few of the jokes were pretty unoriginal.
The Office, I really hate Jan's character. And not in a "I hate Darth Vadar because he is the bad guy" kind of way. In the "I hate Epic Movie because it is terribly written" kind of way. Her character makes no sense. She is almost the exact opposite of what she was when the show started. She was the perfect foil to Michael, but now she basically is Michael. She isn't funny, and the whole jealousy towards Pam thing is just stupid. And I hate to say it, but the show isn't all that interesting with Pam and Jim together now.
And Scrubs, well its the same as last season. They have completely run out of jokes and it seems like they have no clue what they are doing with the series. People seem to be repeating the same lines and tones as they have been for the past couple seasons. Elliot said something like "Why would you ask for my advice if you were just going to do what you wanted anyway?" The way she delivered that line has been almost exactly the same for the past two seasons.
I can't tell if the shows just aren't that good, or if I'm getting really, really cynical as a television watcher. Well, Deadliest Catch will be back in a couple days. If I don't like the season premier, then there is definitely something wrong with me.

I have to agree with everything you wrote there, especially the part about Jan. Also, the Dwight and Angela bit is getting a bit worn out, IMO.
I'll have to watch this latest episode again before I come to a conclusion as to how good I think it was... but it was pretty funny. I like when they take the characters out of the office but I hope this doesn't happen all that often, because after all the show is called 'The Office' and that's where it should stay.
I actually like Jan's character and I don't think her downward spiral is out of character with what we saw in the early episodes. We only say her a few times in season 1, fine, that's enough to go without hints... but season 2's episode 'The Client' where Jan and Michael kiss is really where you get the first inclination that there's more to Jan than just bitchy business woman. After that it becomes pretty apparent that the only thing keeping Jan together is her job and once that was gone she's free to be nutso.

iit was a pretty funny episode, another one of those akwardly hilarious moments that jim is a master of creating to amuse himself.

Sometimes I really feel bad for Michael. His character is actually pretty believable and you can tell he honestly feels the way he says he does.(ex. How much he bragged about his "plasma tv" "That cost me $200.") I laughed loudly when he shouted "THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!!" in the argument.
The show is definately not the same as it used to be, though.
I haven't seen the episode but I'd probably agree with you, Spurplin. That's pretty much the exact reason why I stopped watching the show. It almost seemed like a parody of itself. I guess I'm pretty cynical towards TV now. I really haven't been interested at all since the strike.

I think I'm the only British guy that actually likes the american Office. It's very different to the original from old GB, but that doesn't mean it isn't funny.

This episode was okay. But yeah, Jan has really spiraled downhill from what she used to be. I think she just went a bit insane. I mean, candles?
Michael is still awesome. Haha. I loved when he was standing right next to the tv and said, "Yeah, I sometimes watch TV for hours and hours".

The Office is such an uncomfortable show to watch. Hilarious, but skin crawlingly uncomfortable.

I know what you mean, but it makes it funnier when you watch it with friends. I don't know why, but that's how it is for my friends and me.

I would just like to add that some of Michael Scott's jokes in the dinner party episode were as cringeworthy as some of them found on this forum.

I have to agree with Splurpin, Jan is way off on another tangent now. She is a far cry from where she was but they did at least de-evolve her to where is now kinda.
Season 2 is still by far the best.
And I have to disagree with Splurpin on the direction they went with Pam and Jim. They would of just been exhaustively been milking the whole crush thing had they just kept it that way.

Yeah, I'm with Spike. If they kept up Pam and Roy and kept the crush crap going on longer, everybody would have gotten tired of it.

I agree 100% especially about season 2 being the best. After that it became less of a "quirky characters in an office" show and more of a typical sitcom.

I still love the show. It is the comedy on basic TV.

I don't really mind where they're taking the characters, I love the show as muc has I do know as much as I enjoyed it from the begining, I think Scrubs is becoming a little I dunno how to put it... but I think Scrubs should really stop after this season and quit the shit between JD and Elliot. Either put them together or don't!
I hope Jim and Pam stay with each other on the office though.. the show wouldn't be the same if they split up.

The problem with Scrubs is that it's gone too much in the direction of a standard sit-com. Especially JD has gone from an insecure newbie with all kinds of problems to a goofy daydreamer who occasionally bitches and moans about his life. I feel the characters have lost a lot of their depth.

Scrubs is a mess. The show had one marvelous season. That was the first season. It got progressively silly. The characters never matured other than maybe Dr. Cox and Turk. The show got really formulaic and I think they may have repeated the moral of the story that each episode has more than once.

I thought the first three seasons were good (first being the best, second then third) then it went down the drain, I still enjoy it somewhat though.

I just started watching The Office recently and I've fallen in love.
Does anyone have a link to the first, second or third seasons? I'd really like to watch them, except you know, free.
Edit: trying some torrents, see if they work. Any links would be awesome though.

Ughhh, the first two episodes after the strike have been, to put it mildly, pretty bad. I'm not happy about this.

I'm happy with them. Second seemed forced, but this last one was great. If you want to see the episodes from this season, go to NBC.com. If you have adblock, you don't have to see the commercials.
