it was a good plot......just not what i expected.........i think m. night shaymalan was tryin to attract more of the academy type people and maybe win some awards.......but im talkin out of my peehole so ill let yall be the judges.......

this story was awesome....very clever and never been done in the mainstream...M night Shymalan (sp) hasnt lost his touch for writing.... but the way it was put together blew ass...horrible movie...it dragged ON and ON and ON he could do way better with that...

The story was good. But as reigenborn said, it could have been played out much better. They revealed the truth about the creatures way too early in the movie, and the amount of scenes in the woods could have been cut down to about 1/2. Brilliant story, not-so-good put together, but at least worth seeing once.
I think the biggest problem most people have with the movie is that there's all this hype built up about the creatures even before you see the movie, and then once you find out the truth you think, "Well shit, that's stupid." It seems like a giant teaser that turns into a giant flop. I still enjoyed it somewhat.

I was disappointed with it. It isn't a bad movie but it has its share of problems. He killed the suspense halfway through the movie with the first twist. It came too early. Had he edited it better, it would have been much more effective. Some of plot points were either too convenient or horribly explained.

However, the acting was solid and the cinematography was great so it's not a disaster, just a mediocre movie that had a lot of potential.
