No, thats fucking retarded comment, my first rrod one day. Before that, it was standing up on its bottom.. so u had to put discs in from side, and it was 2 feet away from anyway wall/ obstruction. I sent it back, and it rrod within a day.


I would get PS3, free online, though i love xboxlive, all the little kids on mics, in nearly all games(not just halo3).

The General Hardware Failure error could be caused by cold soldering. The added mass of the CSP chips (including the GPU and CPU) resists heat flow that allows proper soldering of the lead-free solders underneath the motherboard. This causes cracking and voids in the solders themselves from prolonged constant temperature changes inside the Xbox 360. Lead-free solders, however, might be the cause of this because, when properly soldered, they take on a dull appearance that professionals take as a cold solder in older methods, thus, leading to confusion. Lead-free solders also require a greater amount of heat to solder properly when compared to older lead/tin solders.

If you leave your 360 on for 'weeks' then the motherboard will stay at a constant temperature, be it hot but still constant.

Repeated turning your 360 on, playing for half an hour then turning it off and allowing it too cool will push your 360 closer to RROD.

Nah thats complete bollocks. I used to think that it only happens to people that dont give their xbox ventulation or whatever but my xbox red ringed and i did NOTHING wrong. I had had it for 15 months and then it just decided to 'die' on me. I'm pretty sure its just luck/will happen to everyone

PS3 has 50 gb blu-ray and Xbox has 9 gb DVD.

That the only reason I chose PS3, because I can see that it (might have) more potential as blu-ray has won the high def format and Microsoft has stated it is not currently interested in blu-ray.
