this is a code you need so once it comes out (when does it come out anyway?) you can buy and play it online? so youll need a ps3 and the game to put this code to use, correct?

Or is this some seperate online thing they need us to beta test? just want clarification.


after filling out a form, im done registering, they said that if i "qualify" ill be sent a code, anyone know what qualifications they are looking for? they asked if i had a ps3 and i put yes just in case.

nope once you get the code you have to got the ps3 store and download it and it comes out on the April 17 this month.

also you don't need the cd to play the online beta it will be like a download

i didnt get the code... they emailed me almost immediately saying this

At this time, you do not qualify for the Metal GearŽ Online Beta download promotion.

it must be some variable in the form that triggers this, did you qualify? i want to figure out how to qualify

lol you bitch =[... no i dont think it has anything to do with trying later, or any time for that matter, like i said im pretty sure theres something in the form that we fill out that determines whether you qualify or not ... want to tell me about yourself so i can tweak my form? :p

can you do me a favor and sign up again though? itll just take a second, sign up the same way you did last time, but just use another email, and then based on that we will know for sure what the case is, if its because they aint takin any more people or its because what i said

Can't get this to work. Hopefully my EB games gets my pre-order disc on time, it keeps getting delayed. This would have made a nice backup.

yes that may be true, but it may also be what i said, that theres something in the info, we can find out for sure if you could just take a minute to do what i said in my previous post, just sign up using the same info you used, but use a different email, and then we'll know for sure.

To download the Metal GearŽ Online Beta from the PLAYSTATIONŽNetwork:

Open a Master Account on the PLAYSTATIONŽNetwork (or use an existing Master Account)
From the PLAYSTATIONŽNetwork icon on the XMB, select ‘Account Manager’
Enter ‘Transaction Management’
Select Redeem PLAYSTATIONŽNetwork card or Promotional Code.
Enter voucher code. Please note that the voucher code is case-sensitive and must be entered exactly as displayed.

Once the voucher code has been entered correctly, click continue. Once you accept the terms you will be taken to the download screen.


As you can see, it's not related to the psn store.

Either way, I advise anyone who has the beta key, to use it and download the client and update now cause it takes a LONG time. That way you won't have to wait when it does come online on monday.

thanks for the info sherlcok, i found out the hard way that there is a Fucking update that takes like 30mins, well atleast it did for me.

but people have been saying that the update took them like more than 4-5 hours:lol::lol:

so yea i know it's gonna be launched monday hope to see you online and prepare to get raped.

most likely Sunday because in Japan it'll be monday, I think thats why we were able to download it today.

I just downloaded it from the EU playstaion store. Anyone who has no code and lives outside the EU, just create a new user on your ps3 and create a new EU account. Make sure u pu in a valid EU address. Then when you sign in your store will be the EU one!!!


Then download that sucka!!!

If you haven't downloaded this yet, dont bother. It sucks pretty bad. Definitely not work the huge fuckin download and hassle with the god damn Konami ID bullshit.

My friend hasn't gotten off it. Every time I go to play CoD4 online, he's on the beta. It makes me sad =(

This is metal gear not your typical shooter. I'll admit the controls suck and the characters are a little slow (but thats what the fast mov perk is for). Anyways give it some time it might grow on you, if not stick to COD4 because this isn't for everyone.

well to be honest i only played it once or twice. Just couldnt believe how bad the controls were, how bad it looked i.e. way players moved. I always thought that the COD series was more arcady and that MGS would be more simulation. Looks like its the other way around!!!!

Graphically it looked nice.

The problem with it IMO, is that there are stealth controls for a non-stealth 3rd person shooter.

They really need to fix the aiming and make the movement faster, or they can make it more stealthy somehow, but the two don't mix too well.
