I don't know much about grindcore, other than I hate it.
I hear good things about bands you mentioned though so I guess you're on the right track.

Both fail
At the gates> Black dahlia, but they sound extremely different. You need your ears checked, first the dragonforce/symphony x thing and now this?
Don't get me wrong, I like At The Gates and Black dahlia.

I listened to this stuff a bit back in the day. Now, I really can't stand it. You'd like Leng Tch'e, though.

I really don't have that much background, I've heard like 3 songs. But whatever.

Sezril
05-02-2008, 12:22 AM
Assück - Anticapital; Misery Index
Carcass - Reek of Putrefaction; Symphonies of Sickness
Kill the Client - Wage Slave
Siege - Drop Dead (grind or not? whatever, it rules)
Terrorizer - World Downfall
These plus Napalm Death's first two and Repulsion's Horrified is pretty much where I get off the grind train

For Grindcore, Sezril just hit the nail on the head with Carcass and Terrorizer. I'd also check out Anal Cunt, Brutal Truth, older Morbid Angel, Cephalic Carnage, Extreme Noise Terror, and Fuck the Facts (from Canada). And, yeah, Napalm Death rules. You may also want to explore the roots of grind with crust bands like Disrupt.

I like Head Wound City the most in my opinion. That's all I have from what you didn't list.

Cool, thanks for all the suggestions. And whoever said Black Dahlia Murder, your waaaay off. Not trying to be a dick, they're just not even close to grind but they are close to At The Gates as mentioned. Pretty much every metalcore band ripped off At The Gates in some way.

Oh, my bad dude. My friend told me they were. I'm not big on all this death-grind-black metal stuff. Some is pretty cool, but it all kind of sounds the same when I listen to it. Maybe I'm not listening to the right bands. Whatever.

It all does definitely sound the same when you first start listening to it but after you hear different bands you'll see the difference in sound. If I were you I'd buy/download Rotten Sound - Cycles. That album is great. Also, Nasum - Inhale/Exhale or Human 2.0 (those are 2 albums by Nasum, not 2 bands).

I downloaded Anal Cunt's whole discography like a month ago and I couldn't stant a single song of theirs. The guitars are inaudible and all you hear is some screaming/drumming and their a joke/grind band. I know their one of the founders of grind but I just can't stand them for those reasons (can't hear shit/joke band) Brutal Truth seem to be pretty good, IDK if old Morbid Angel would be considered grind. How old? I think Altars/Covenant/Blessed are their earliest releases and pretty sure they're all considered death metal. I don't mean to be a genre freak, I can't help it. I still have yet to hear Extreme Noise Terror and Fuck the Facts though.

Someone already said it but See You Next Tuesday...make sure you get their older shit, that new guy sounds like a shitty seth putnam and the re-recorded tracks are sloppier (not that it matters with grind)...also Suicide Silence is decent if you're into grind.

I've heard of See You Next Tuesday but never heard them, I'll check them out. And I'm pretty sure Suicide Silence is deathcore, I have one of their albums. Decent deathcore, not my favorite genre though.
