Free you say? No thanks.
They'd have to pay me to listen to their garbage and at this rate i'm sure they'll resort to that soon.

You have officially just lost the right to have an opinion on any form of art, even porn. Have a nice day.

I don't get it. Why is he giving his music away? I wonder if this has lyrics or if its like ghosts...
Edit. Thanks Jerky.

From what I read, it has everything Ghosts had. It's released under Creative Commons, so you can share it with your friends, remix it and release it, it has album art also and they have a number of different formats to choose from, including lossless formats.
He's also doing this as a "thank you" to the fans, because of how successful the Ghosts release was. I'm sure it also has to do with creating buzz/publicity, as he is currently touring North America. Anyway, if you want to listen to the songs before you download, you can listen to streams here...

Even if you don't like Reznor you gotta give him props for what he's doing. I mean, this is what most smaller bnds do, just put up a song or two on MySpace. When a major band comes around though and just puts out a cd it really shows you that something's changing in the music industry. Also shows you the power of the internet
I haven't ever heard anything sound this awful.
And I've bought In Rainbows when it came out.

After listening to it a few times I came to the conclusion that it's quite good; better than what I expected for an out-of-the-blue album. Regardless, I don't quite understand the NIN bashing, I thought it seemed pretty solid...

Just a player hater. The album is quite good. A lot better than Ghosts which I also thought was pretty good.

Don't you guys get it? Trent has resorted to sending trojans and viruses to either our hardrive or our ears. Just like free porn sites! Nothing in life is free!

If you're gonna bash a great artist like Trent Reznor, at the very least make your argument worth reading. You only get so far in life with "der, he fuckin' sucks."
Grow some balls and give a REAL argument...

Ok, his music sounds like a rotten anus stewed in the eviscerated innards of a down syndrome kid.
its bad enough that his music is like getting punched in the ear but the man himself is a bigger tool than that guy from tool.

Not a fan, but Reznor pretty much rules for doing all of this. Good show, buddy!

Yeah, you already tried using the simile comparison, no one found it funny.

how am I acting tough? Just because I know for a fact that your idol Reznor is a cunt in real life doesn't mean you need to get butt hurt about it.

How about explaining what he did, instead of constantly repeating the same thing? Did he not give you an autograph when you met him? Explain why Trent has got you so pissed off. Personally, I don't really care, but if it means you get it off your chest and keeps you quiet, by all means go for it. It wont change the fact the guy is challenging the music industry's distribution methods. If you can't overlook your hatred for a minute and see the big picture, you should take your beef with Trent to a psychiatrist. You sound like Trent was an ex who dumped you.

The album is quite decent actually...i liked it.
Anyways, with such a HUGE fanbase, they can afford to do it...similar to what radiohead did. Almost everyone on earth who listens to English music would have heard of these names.
