Age of Conan problem/rant.

Ok so I got into the beta, annnd to say the least.... its gonna blow wow to pieces PERIOD

But theres a problem with the graphics? the system requirements are:

I went to www.canyourunit.com basically scans your pc and you pick a game from the list and it tells you if your pc passed the requirements, heres my results (very good)...

K? i try to ya know, play it... and i can't move without lagging... Its not my internet connection either..

So what i'm thinking is it just might be the beta itself... buuut..

any recommendations for me?

it probably is the server, your probably running on a BETA server, thats so much smaller then the real servers there going to use, and plus WoW was the same way with there beta, i got into it and it lagged like a fucker, theres nothing to worry i dont think

You playing open beta? Because closed beta runs smoother than butter. Open beta is used for stress testing and debuggin at the moment.

Does the server you logged on have "closed" in the title?

Do you have anything running in the background? Anti-virus, spyware, folding@home. That kind of shit?

Make sure you check the title of the server you connect too. If it doesn't have "closed" in the title it's open beta.

Nothing ever runs in the background of my pc and i make sure of it, its just definitally the beta servers, i noticed that i can level the character to 5, then when i have to enter the multiplayer portion of it, i start to get a bit laggy... so i know its not my computer specs... thanks for everyones help though.

Don't quit your day job for Age of Conan, I was in the closed beta and a stress tester. If the game launches in it's current state, it won't last very long.

I agree with this one...and I am the biggest Robert E.Howard and Conan fan on this board, I have also been following AOC since it was announced in 2004, and I was also in the closed beta, things don't look to good for this game!

Gameplay wise or what? My friend's really looking forward to it and I'm looking to get into a new MMO, so I really hope it doesn't suck. Obviously any MMO is gonna have a lot of bugs at launch. WoW certainly did, and it's one of the most popular games of all time.

I've heard it's just the open beta that runs like crap. Apparently they made some changes from the closed beta. But I'm more worried about gameplay. If it's just bugs I'm sure they'll get that worked out shortly.

yes its the open beta, the one u can get into via fileplanet and a acredit card... thats why, i'm not in the closed beta... sorta just figured that out.

What about it didn't you like? I was in the PvP beta and loved it. Do you not like the pace or something?

Gameplay runs really well. There is a lot of little graphical glitches, but honestly comparing it to other betas I've been in. AOC is the best one to date. WoW was SHIT in beta, worst betas I've ever been in. You need to realize at this point they're testing stress of the server hardware and finding bugs in the game.

Once I get a new computer, I'll be all over that shit but until then I'll just stick WoW out.
