Battlefield 2 Problem.

I downgraded to xp to make compatibility easier for this game and it has sorta, but i can't update the game to 1.4!
current version : 1.1.2965-797.0

it won't move... and when i go to connect to multiplayer, it automatically sends me to a play now server without my consent... help me out?

Well i can help you with the second problem...

When you install the game you get two icons on your desktop:

Play Battlefield 2
Play Battlefield 2 online now!

Just click on "Play BF2" instead of the second option and go to multiplayer from there. Took me about 2 months to figure that one out too.

As for the patching... i dunno, uninstall, delete every trace of BF2 from your registry and whatnot, reinstall. Or try googling "Can't install patch whatever BF2" into google and find forums where people have asked the same question... no doubt you'll find the solution within minutes.

I get the same problem, though I don't really mind. Heard ver. 1.4 is ass anyway.

Now having to register with EA to install Euro Force, that pisses me off.
