View Full Version : Good horror games for the pc?

Just got done playing through Penumbra: Overture, and I'm getting the second one soon...those are my favorite types of games, yet it seems like there aren't really that many games like them.

Anyone know of any similar games that have come out in the past 2 or 3 years? I'd prefer first person. I've heard Call of Cthulhu is good, but I don't know if it's really the type I'd like. Already played through the silent hill games.

Have you played F.E.A.R (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F.E.A.R.)? That's the only one I can think of now.

I tried the demo of it and it just didnt really seem that fun to me.

I forgot about Painkiller (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Painkiller_(video_game)). If you don't enjoy that game then there's something wrong with you.

Penumbra Black plague is a good choice, (better than overture in my opinion).
Indigo prophecy is meant to be quite good, but I've never played it.

I just bought hellgate london, which is very similar.

Left 4 Dead (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Left_4_Dead) when it comes out in Q3 2008.

F.E.A.R and Condemned.
I guess Doom 3 would work for some people aswell.
