Apparently age of conan gets boring fast nowadays, changes and what not, if that is true then our only hope is Darkfall.

I am a current subscriber. I think it's worth it for the horadric cube alone. Hit me up in game sometime, my name is my forum name.

Fuck me, there's a horadric cube now? I should play the game again.

You gotta be a subscriber. But it's badass.

Sidenote: This game got shitty reviews because it was buggy and unplayable as fuck when it came out. It is FAR better now and easily worth the title of Diablo 3. The people that were disappointed by it in the past though, were permanently scarred by it back then. It will never get the attention it deserves, and it's a shame. It's a damn shame, such a great game.

I was turned off more by having to kill the exact same monsters every time. And all the levels/dungeons all look the same. I realize that Diablo II also did this, but it's a lot more annoying when it's a first-person game.

One question: can you do headshots now? I know it's silly, but I was always annoyed by how the FPS part of the game was so horrible. I'd like my shots to do varying damage depending on where you shoot, in order to add some sort of challenge to farming.

fun fact: a popular dutch game magazine gave the game a 91(!) at release

I do not know about location damage as i am relatively new, howver, i do notice that my shots do occasionally do varying damage. And since all guns have a base damage, i would assume that it changes depending on where i hit. Obviously it's not as drastic as a 1 hit kill headshot, as that would completely ruin the RPG part of the game.

I doubt there is 'headshots' for shooting, as they would have to add that sort of thing for the swords too, im guessing its how all RPG i know of works, chance of doing critical hits and also how much bonus damage you do in a critical hit.. im pretty sure that is clear in hellgate, havent played it for a while but im pretty sure i remember you can get items that add to the % of you actually scoring a critical hit, then also can get bonuses that add to the % of bonus damage when you actually score a critical hit. I was thinking of subscribing but there arent many games id be willing to pay subscription fees for, can you play it free online ? do you lose out alot if so ?

O RLY? When I played it at release it was just awful, like you said. I'm curious now about how good it is.

You can most certainly play it free online. As a subscriber, you can access the subdungeons in the expansion (which are just flashy, you dont lose content), also in each station, there are various goodies for subscribers, but again, nothing game changing. Except maybe the horadric cube.
