View Full Version : Unclean Disk Error for the 360

My first 360 had the 3 Red Rings, so I had to send it in and I got a new one a while back. The new one I've got, since day 1, has given me some troubles.

Every time I play, my 360 revs up extremely loud, no matter what game. It's still noticeable when I even have the sound up really loud. This wasn't a problem, but more of an indication my 360 was shite.

Anyways, now many of my games get the "Unclean Disk" error, where my 360 says it cannot read the disk because it's dirty. I know this isn't right, because it happened within about an hour of playing GTA4 brand new. It also occurs during Rockband and other games.

My 360 lays flat on a glass shelf, so there's no additional overheating problem.

My question is if this is a common problem among 360's and if there's anyway to eliminate or help the situation.

Actually my house is very clean, and I figured people usually mention overheating as a problem with the 360, so I explained it then and there rather than having someone ask me later.

Thanks for the input though, your name suits you too.

What model is it & how long have you had it specifically?

A loud Xbox 360? After you said that, I just can't believe anything you say anymore.

I'm surprised that this hasn't erupted into a giant fanboy war yet!

I had 3 360s total and each one of them RROD'd. If it weren't for the RROD, the loudness of the system, it frequently having disk issues, the games freezing up, and it overheating alot, I wouldn't have bought the PS3 and said "fuck the 360"

If I were a giant douche, like a lot of people here with PS3s, I would suggest that the problem with your 360 is that it is not a PS3.

I'd say a faulty disc drive. Just call Microsoft up and see if get them to repair it.
