This game is so good it kicks its own ass, but, sometimes when I play, I notice utter BS.

Sometimes when you run or even walk into something, you'll break it. One time I wanted to buy a hotdog and I walked into the stand. Next thing you know, a couple of ketchup sprays are knocked over and it says that the vendor wont serve me.

Bricks are cool to throw at people, but throwing at cars do nothing. Maybe it's just me, but I can't seem to break windows, cause dents or anger the driver when I throw a brick at a car.

No lobby to choose online games! I mean, what the fuck, you choose if it's rank or non ranked, choose a game mode and it randomly puts you into a game!

Phone numbers don't work, other than 911, zit and cheats. On the computer you see cars for sale with a phone number attached. You think called it would get you some information about buying the car, but the number doesn't even work. I've always called any number I saw around the city, but they never work.

Friends constantly calling you for dates is annoying as fuck.

if you kill a clerk in a store, you can't "buy" items. Why cant you steal them, this is fucking GTA.

I had half of my fun in San Andreas spawning the Hydra Jets and fucking around with them, and now you can't even fly any planes

Besides you know.... the 10 jobs for jacob, 200 pigeons, how many stunt jumps? Don't forget the 9 races for Brucie, 30 cars for Stevie, 10 cars for Brucie. That's 259 things along with the stunt jumps I'm not sure of. Oh yea.... don't forget the random characters, 11 of them I believe.

Things I hate:

1. You can't call a taxi cab unless it's Roman's for free, and he can't always send one. Especially if you got the 'Deal' ending.

That's all I can think of right now...

Oh big fucking deal, some escort missions and wild hunts for pigeons?

If I want to race, I'll play GT5 or Forza.

Haha, everything, save for the repetitive missions, is due to the fact that he must be shit at the game. The animation engine and game engine are perfectly fine.

Which is why I refuse to keep paying 60+ dollars for these games they've been exactly the same since GTA3, and a bigger map or some licensed music doesn't really make the game more fun.

What sucks in GTA?

damn.... besides everything??

haha just kidding! Its a great game and all, but it really doesnt even hold a candle to San Andreas. The grahpics are better, but thats about it. The multiplayer is a sham.... seriously, who can play that piece of shit thing for more then an hour??? Its so lame!!

Things I hate though, and some of you might have said it already so please forgive me!

1.) Phone numbers dont work! I tried to play GTA in a real life way, like not stealing anything and buying everything, so I try to purchase a car and the number doesnt even work! So lame....

2.)Like I said, the multiplayer. Its a complete waste. I wish Rockstar had put everything into the single player and made planes and everything else form SA available.

3.)The story was just.. meh.

4.) The lack of weapons

5.) the lack of cheats! jeez, i remember the first one had about 30 diffrent cheats to use. this one has like 12!

The police missions are real fun. You kill the ten most wanted in each city, which is different for each, and pretty fun, and then you can kill random criminals that come across the radio. This is my favorite. 'Suspect on foot' translates in my head to "Suspect about to become fender meat'.

It's not real enough. Like, nobody can die then come back over and over. FAKE! BULLSHIT! SHENANIGANS! When I play a video game i want it to not feel like a video game but like real life. DUH

The missions are all basically the same, the game was overhyped, it gets boring real quick, online is pretty poor.

I will always stand by my opinion that GTA4 is like rockstars trial run with the engine and the animation system. I mean think about it, if rockstar had tried to cram everything from the previous GTA's into there newly developed software, it probably wouldn't have come out as good, there would be bugs and who knows?

I mean sure they could spend more time perfecting it to hold all of those features but they are humans too, they make mistakes, There will be other GTA's, its not like this is the last one.

besides we have DLC coming and the PC version which will open up the modding community.

The graphics.

If you've ever stopped to look at them you'll realize how subpar they are...but the fact that they are on a big scale and harder to realize, they work out great.

Agreed. They are not bad, but they do leave more to desire.

Other drivers! I remember reading something a while ago about how intelligent pedestrians are going to be, what bullshit! It's worse than ever.

Other cars don't notice you until you're only a few meters away. You pull out at some light, and a car will just pull out in front of you and suddenly break right in front of you making you crash.

You drive up a freeway, not going insanely fast but fast enough to be weaving in and out of cars. Then suddenly, when your just a few meters away from the car in front, it will randomly switch lanes, causing you to crash into the back of it. Cars simply don't notice you until its too late.

But the thing that pisses me off the most is that cars constantly run you down. You step out into slow moving traffic, leaving plenty of time and space for oncoming cars to stop, but they don't, they just slowly drive into you, then after they knock you down they break heavily, get out and try and fight you. Niko completely over reacts and falls to the ground all dramatically, then you have to wait like 10 second for him to get back on his feet. And just as you’re about to get back up another car plows into the back of the car that just hit you, and it knocks you down again.

In San Andreas this was not a problem, they shouldn't have changed it.

The missions are so seriously painfully repetitive. I prefer a game like COD4 where even though it's short, it's not that repetitive and it keeps you interested. But with GTA IV, I only enjoyed the missions up to about the bank robbery. After the bank robbery mission all the other missions feel the same, "Oh look, another mission where I walk through a building, taking cover behind walls and shit, and kill a million people. Now I have to lose a three-star wanted level." Where were those missions from San Andreas where you were the one in the backseat of a car or on the back of a motorbike being chased by a bunch of guys and having to gun them down?

After a while doing the missions feel like a chore. The story doesn't help to make the missions any more exciting. For most of the game you're working for people who are essentially assholes and you start off a mission thinking like, "Why the hell would Niko even do this for this guy?" In Vice City and San Andreas more of their missions contribute to the storyline in some way or the people you're doing the missions for usually weren't all assholes. Also the missions in Vice City and San Andreas could you interested in it. I remember one mission in Vice City where you had to drive a limo which had a bomb on it in the similar manner like in the movie Speed and I remember laughing so hard at the comments made by the people in the back seats as they tried disarming it. But GTA IV didn't really keep my interest in the missions.

Another problem I had was how so many of the missions made me spend so much time driving across the fucking map. I like how Rockstar made Liberty City so big and everything, but it pisses me off when most of the time spent on the mission was getting from point A to point B. It pissed me off even more when I failed the mission and had to do all that driving again.

The story was so shitty overall. If they're going to make players put in about 25 to 30 hours of their life to complete a storyline, there should be a feeling of satisfaction or accomplishment when you complete the story. The ending was also unfullfilling because you couldn't own properties. In Vice City and San Andreas you feel like you've accomplished something in the end when you own like casinos, cab companies, strip clubs, etc. But in GTA IV, you finished the game keeping basically everything you've started with. Niko starts off with nothing and finishes with nothing aside from some clothes from Perseus. Also there's no feeling of accomplishment in the main character which makes it difficult to empathize with Niko. He starts off depressed and troubled and ends in the same way.

I agree completely with this point. Although I did find out that you can jump into the back seat of any cab and get the driver to take you to your selected waypoint *instantly*. Rides would usually be under $50... it's well worth the money to save all that travelling time with the shitty driving controls. I only wish I knew this earlier instead of later, around 75% into finishing the game.

Yeah, but you can't jump in a cab when part of the mission is to drive with someone from one spot to another. It'll just say get back in the car with so and so and if you don't you'll fail the mission. I liked how San Andreas had a "Trip Skip" button. Anyone remember that or am I tripping it? I also really liked how one island in San Andreas was completely different than another island. No two were the same. Except for the slight community change, it's pretty much all the same in GTA4.
