Well, being a young inexperienced voter, i really do not know what to look out for. I have my own views and i know what i want and i dont want to ask somone who would be a president to look for...
what i am getting at is...which future president will lower the gas prices. Thats a big one for me, im not trying to spend 8 bucks for a gallon of gas, ya know. And, i'm agaisnt the war, i am also pro-choice...i mean, is that bad that i am for the war but agaisnt pro-choice?
I dunno, is there a website that gives you facts on each candidate on how they are going to run the country? etc.
what other advice should come into play?
i cam here in this forum because i have the feeling that people in here are smart enough/intelligent enough to give an answer...

You can go to the candidates' websites for information, Wikipedia actually has decent political positions pages as well. There are also some websites which will ask you questions on your stances and then compare them with candidates, such as this one: www.electoralcompass.com I am too young to vote in this election, unfortunately.

Don't worry. Your choices have already been made for you. If you vote for McCain or Obama there will be little to no real difference.
The real election was done for the past year in the primaries where there were actually different candidates with substantive differences of opinion.
I suggest you soak up as much knowledge as possible before the next round of voting. Perhaps even buy a book: http://www.amazon.com/Revolution-Manifesto-Ron-Paul/dp/0446537519/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1214079872&sr=8-1

Yes an rp book. It explains his positions which do not fit in sound bites. You would do yourself a favor to read it so you can actually understand where he is coming from.
Obama and McCain are both in the council on foreign relations and will do whatever they are told to do by their frat.

Whatever you do believe this guy, because he 'gets it.' And as we all know, only a small handful of people go through their lives who actually 'get it.'
And Spike, Shameless: For the 549th time: Obama / McCain, same big gov't bullshit, same huge deficeits, same downward spiral for Americans, same victim industry, same societal decay, same police state direction, same currency devaluation, same GWB bullshit. Americans are being bred into helpless dependent morons incapable of thinking for themselves, and the 2 candidates you support are doing everything to ensure the downward spiral continues.
I see an ever expanding perma boom for the elites, and a permanent downswing for the rest of us unless drastic measures are made to reduce gov't size & spending.

Make sure you watch the debates in the coming months, and decide for yourself. Just don't get sucked into the whole presidential personality gimmick like most of America. It seems like most people don't care about the issues, they just care about how "cool" the candidate is or how he looks.

This isn’t Democratic vision or a Republican vision. It’s a vision that rejects the idea that government actions and decisions should be kept secret.http://obama.senate.gov/press/071213-coburn_and_obam/

And another thing... I freakin hate when people yell and scream for "change". What the fuck is change? Things are actually pretty good right now seeing as we're free and all that other shit we take for granted. I don't want somebody to come into office and start fucking everything up just to have "change". Don't ask other people to give you advice on this subject, they will only try to convince you to vote for the candidate they're backing.
Look at who is running, what they are doing, what you like and don't like about them, etc.
You'll have to weigh up the bad and the good, because you will never find one you agree with 100%. The way it usually goes, you will be picking the candidate you hate the LEAST, because they always suck.
I don't bother voting at all. I'm on minimum wage and don't have any education beyond high school or any qualifications, although i'm working on that, but with my job it will take at least another 10 years for me to make anything decent of myself. There is nobody in politics who would represent or look out for the likes of me, so i don't give a flying fuck who gets in.

Well...you need to make sure that the countries you're looking at aren't doing it in liters because it can look cheap, but it may atually be high when you turn those liters into gallons. Also, don't include China in your argument because I'm pretty sure government sanctions is what's keeping station owners from raiding the prices.

Less people want to buy gas, less CO2, more interest in alternative fuels. Somebody didn't graduate from high school. Gas prices in canada are $1.38 per liter.
1 gallon = 3.785 liters
($1.38 / 1 L) = ($x.xx / 3.785 L)
$x.xx = $5.22 per 3.785 L or $5.22 per gallon
Gas prices are $4.00 per gallon in USA.
Gas prices are cheap.

Right. Because we don't live in a tiny country. We live in a large country. Larger countries have more land and more people who do not live 5 miles away from work. Many live 10, 15, even 30 miles away and require cars to get to work. Of course we will be buying oil and cutting back in other places. If we want to get around our cities many of which have larger populations than Holland itself, we need our cars.
As shade said, we do conserve but we also require our cars far more than a country like yours because of our size.

It wasn't critisism, it's a general remark. Consumption decreases of oil in general almost never even approach growth in prices.

I tried to explain to you the US is different because of its size. People need their cars far more than they do in tinier countries such as your own so they will sacrifice more to keep them running than someone who lives in a much smaller area. When more oil is around, people buy more and travel more, hence the correlation.

There is no way Obama will drill. Which is what we need to do already. We also need nuclear energy like France, which has almost 80% of its electric coming from nuclear plants.
This is a little old. I believe McCain said he would drill in Anwar now.

But look at Obama's plans. They cost A LOT of money. They will definitely raise taxes a lot. That is the problem with socialism. Hard working people have to pay for the lazy to live. Like health care. That is not what America is about. It is about seizing the opportunities here.

And I highly doubt oil consumption in tiny countries such as your own in Europe is on par with the United States so I fail to see how you can combine the two continents in your response.

I don't know how I can explain it more plainly.
You acted as if you were confused. I tried to answer your question.
And I highly doubt oil consumption in tiny countries such as your own in Europe is on par with the United States so I fail to see how you can combine the two continents in your response.
The original statement was about change in prices and change in consumption of oil. I made a general statement about the two, that applies to the entire western world. This has nothing to do with differences in total oil consumption between the US and Europe. That you applied my statement only to total consumption and only in the US, although my statement refered to neither, was what confused me.
