I encountered Robin Trower (from Procol Harum) when I heard Opeth cover his song Bridge of Sighs.
This subsequently led me to get his Bridge of Sighs album, and in my opinion he's a great blues guitarist, who I'd have never have heard about, were it not for Opeth. Some people have compared his sound to similar to Jimi Hendrix's, if you're looking for an idea of what he sounds like.
Any fans here? If not, I'd recommend him, he's a great musician.
