View Full Version : Can we stop with the name calling?

Mr. Heskey

Can those people that are right of center stop with the 'hussein' moniker? I am right of center but it's stupid to call him that.

We KNOW he's not like Saddam or a Muslim secretly harboring hate for America.
There is no positive benefit to doing so. It just makes people who do it look childish.

Hesk, you know what this thread is going to turn into.

But...but it's his name! What's wrong with using a person's full name?

I don't think anyone knows enough about him to be able to make a statment like that. I see him as still an unknown.

I remember the last time this discussion was held that people just flat out refused to give any reason what-so-ever for using Obama's middle name, while doing it for no other candidate.

Exactly! That's his name. Deal with it and if the majority of Americans want to elect, Bozo the clown, a Dem or Rep retard, a KKK member or a faggot then let it be

vox populi, vox Dei

Yeah but when it's done, it is done with at attempt to demonize it. Only later is it passed off as "just his name."

I just wish you all would stop lying...

I really don't care who wins because they both fuck up the country. I hate them both equally. I'm not liberal or conservative because I'd rather not be a narrow-minded fucktard.

Speak for yourself

That would work if I were actually lying ;)

Totally missing the point. This is not about who is the better candidate and therefore has nothing to do with the elections. It is about how we discuss those elections, and using a name purely for it's resemblance to another name is disruptive of a proper debate.

Now that we have such pleasantries out of the way, let's face the crude truth

Both candidates will do absolutely nothing to halt the downward spiral. The only thing they might accomplished is to continue to teach kids in K-12 on how to vote for democrats and fornicate with one another

The way to to become more competitive is to unfuck the education system, which implies fiscal responsibility on the part of the state(s) and federal government and none of those POS are going to do jackshit

Which is all very nice, but totally off-topic. It doesn't have anything to do with the name(s) we use to talk about Obama.

I live in toronto so for me the name Hussein is almost as common as any other. Putting his middle name in just takes more time to read.

Can we stop derailing this thread please?

People who say "Barrack Hussein Obama" or BHO piss me off immensely, whenever you point out that they use it exclusively they'll retort with things like "dats his name rite!?1?" or "We say GWB too!". Both of which are piss-poor excuses IMO. I've never seen those same people refer to the republican candidate as John Sidney McCain III.

Anyway, that was my rant. I hope for once these types would finally give a satisfactory explanation.

(And just for the record, I'm not particulary inclined toward either Obama or McCain.)

I don't give a shit want you want to call a candidate...It's substance and at the end thats what matters

On substance, I think we should privatize the school system. All of it.

Teachers that suck get fired by the parents. Kids that act up...throw them out.

You pay attention and learn or you become part of the 6/7/8 dollar an hour crowd for life.

End welfare. End all entitlements- all except veteran benefits.

The only sensible thing you've said at all in this thread.

Gas prices are still going to go up

We're still going to be in Iraq

Inflation will still continue to rise

Many people will still be over-worked and under-paid

. . .So, honestly: why does anyone even bother treating presidential candidates like sports teams???

Here, let's compromise.

Instead of using "Hussein", we'll simply refer to Barack Obama as "doodiehead" from now on.

And instead of "Moses", "George Burns' father", or "McBush", we'll simply refer to John McCain as "spaghetti-brains" from now on.

Of course, Hilary will still be known as "First Bitch".

But the people who don't support him and want another 4-8 years of war and an even worse reputation worldwide love using his middle name because it gets results... why would they stop?

I imagine people in the south wearing dungarees... "Hussein? I aint votin' fer anybody cawled Hussein". I'm sure there are people who won't vote for him solely because his middle name is Hussein.

Then there are people who know his middle name means nothing but won't vote for him because he just might stop bombing as many non-Christians in the middle-east as McSame will bomb.

Then there are people who won't vote for him because he's not entirely white.

Either way, as usual, Americans are voting for all the wrong reasons, just as they have always done.

Let me call you out on this one, us redneck tabacco chewing hillbillies down heres in de south, we aint voting for this fella not because his name rimes with Osama or because his udder name is Husane.

We're not voting for him because he is unknown and want's to change unknown things. He's doing all of this on an unknown platform.

Teddy Kennedy before brain cancer, calls Obama, Osama:

So it's wrong for name calling on Obama because you like him, but because you don't like McCain, then it's okay? Way to make yourself credible there.

There are a lot of people who will not vote for Obama for the wrong reasons. I know that, and it's bullshit. But there are a lot of poeple that will be voting FOR him for the wrong reasons. Honestly, he's got what, 94 percent of the black vote? You can't get 94 percent of people to agree on anything, how the hell does he get that kind of numbers? Ask most supporters what issues they like his stance on, and you'll get generic answers. "He's the candidate of change." K...change can be good...what's he going to change?
I'm not saying McCain is a great idea either. I wish I could change my name to none of the above, because then I"d be the next president.

88% of blacks voted for Kerry, 84% for Clinton in 1996, 83 for Clinton in 1992. I couldn't find a number quickly googling but on factcheck.com it shows Gore as being even higher than Kerry. (source (http://www.factcheck.org/askfactcheck/when_did_blacks_start_voting_democratic.html)). It's not exactly that high of a number, in context.

This is a much better counterargument to Obama, although I'd guess that many/most voters are fairly clueless on policy positions and don't really understand what the president does and does not do (and cannot do, for that matter).

I'm not saying McCain is a great idea either. I wish I could change my name to none of the above, because then I"d be the next president.

Vote for me in 11 years, I'll be eligible!

True, but again, it kinda proves my point.
A lot of people on the left like to bitch about the stupid rednecks who vote "right" simply because they vote "right" yet say nothing about the people other side that do the same thing. I know it's too much to ask that people vote on issues and not party line, but hey, I can dream, can't I?

I would agree with you wholeheartedly there. While I can't talk on all issues, I can at least name a few. I've ordered Obama's book so I can get a little more insight on him, but from what I've seen, I haven't seen a lot of specific talk from either him or his supporters. At least with McCain we know a lot of his stnaces simply because he's been around since the PreCambrian. (Yes, that was an age joke)

Vote for me in 11 years, I'll be eligible!

No offense man, because I do like you, but I'd sooner vote for cookie monster. At least I'm in agreement with his chocolate chip policy. ;)

Yeah, Sidney Poitier definitely had a vagina like no other.

Oh I would have plowed that like a homesteading farmer with a mule hopped up on amphetamines.

Elections aren't decided on substance, but rather on childish insults.

If I had a dollar for every person I've heard say "Obama is a secret muslim! It's a fact, I heard it on TV" I'd be able to buy a nice steak dinner.
