You get a unique link for your IP address after you click the gem, so my link wouldn't work for you.
Fail.
Here's why In Lame-mans terms:
This could only be done 2 ways:
1) They record your clicks via IP and give you a link after so many clicks.
^This reason is false because you could easily copy and paste the string-URL into the address bar and go there. Quite simply.
2) The only other way that would work is if he was running a web service or web-server-protocal such as Apache off of his local network/machine and had people directly connect to his computer via port 80.
Both of these are false because!(technical terms):
Regarding 1) Even if this statement was true, it is TECHnicaly possible to run an asp.net or php script to check a database to see if the URL-IP matches that recorded into the Database. This wouldent work hoever because http:// protocol records only a certain number of "dots" or "periods" symbols to decipher the Domain name vs's an direct-IP address.
Regard 2) Even if he had the files, the only way he could have a URL-IP when it boils down to it is by running a web-service-protocol off of his machine locally.
Meaning for example:
I connect to his IP @ 6.7.8.101:80 and establish a socket-file-descriptor with his (6.7.8.101) and bind() on port(80)(so it isn't listening on a random port) to decipher the web-protocol. This would work for sending/receiving files, but it wouldn't work in general terms because he would be required to HAVE the actual file before getting a link from Blizzard.
Bullshit solved. :dunce:

There was actually a gem in the battlenet Diablo2 chatroom that you could click repeatedly and eventually after so many clicks it would write some secret text on the screen. I forgot what it was... it was some 8 or 9 years ago damnit.
