right now on CNN, MSNBC and FOX news, there is live coverage of a press conference with Sorenstam. WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING WRONG WITH OUR NEWS??? why is a golfer taking priority over REAL news?? who cares if she is a women, she isnt the first to golf...i dont see the big deal.

"when you start hitting bogies, your score gets higher and higher" Sorenstam.

what i dont understand is why women have to go to mens tornoments when they have their own. men dont complain that they arent in the womens pga tour.

I think tiger woods needs to play in the wpga, and the spurs of mavericks need to play in the wnba.

thats true, but i dont mind, if she wants to golf with men, and she can make it their then let her. but why dedicate 3 (or more i havnt seen them all) channels to a press conference on a golfer??

The problem with the news is that people actually watch, and are fascinated by it. He'll, like 90% of the US population aren't even aware that there has been a war going on in Sri Lanka for the past 40 years or so. The media tries to report on what is sexy at the moment. Awhile ago kids were being stolen, molested and killed then the war and kids were safe again.

The networks show what gets ratings, real news seldom gets good ratings. Why do you think foxnews is so popular?

Today she shot a 1 over par 71, which is not bad. But Golf is not a game of streaks. She could easily shoot a 75+ on Friday. I know that all the women libers are jumping out of their female made bras and rubbing their unshaven legs together in joy, but come on. The best result here will be that the BEST WOMAN GOLFER IN THE WORLD is only a mediocre golfer with men.

Its really tiresome to hear people bitch so much about the leftist or rightist media. Cant you just say, "I watch the news" Instead of "I watch (A certain channel) because all other channels are Rightist/Leftist oriented and filled with "sensationalism" and "propaganda" You want a good clean balanced news show? Then watch Sports Center.

Yea, everyone should look at my post on how the news is mainly a ratings ploy. It really shows what news is "news for ratings".

No surprise at all here. If you look at this thread earlier or maybe another thread, you will see that I predicted something like this. Except I said shed shoot five over par in the 2nd round not 4 over. Oh well, at least we can laugh at reporters and get on with normal sports again.
