Confessed French serial killer Charles Sobhraj, who was convicted & sentenced to life in prison in Nepal, is engaged & plans to marry a woman of 44 years younger than he is. Both Sobhraj, 64 years old & his 20 years old Nepalese fiance, Nihita Biswas, said that they are planning to get married if he is freed by Nepal’s Supreme Court.
Nihita Biswas first met Charles Sobhraj in prison to act as his interpreter & she was hooked. Charles Sobhraj is an Indian who has been imprisoned in Nepal. Charles Sobhraj was accused of seducing young women & then destroying them. Charles Sobhraj insisted that the Nepalese police have no evidence against him & he was confident of his release from prison soon. Charles Sobhraj was arrested in Sep. 2003 & has been in jail. Charles Sobhraj was sentenced to life imprisonment in July 2004.

I just read about this in the newspaper. Perhaps it's not the most pertinent event in the world at the moment, but it is quite interesting... especially if you've read any stories of Sobhraj such as the chilling Serpentine.
