Has anyone else heard about this bullshit? Floridians are suing because their kids are dumb as dirt (my words not theirs)....they are saying that standardized tests are racist and that is why their fucktarded kids can't score above 40%....AFTER 5 ATTEMPTS!!!!!!...sure, who can I sue for my dog being ugly?

I love it how that whenever minority people are not doing well in society that they cry racism. Maybe they should put down their fried chicken and crack pipes and help TEACH their own children.

What a fucking joke. How can a reading or math test be racist? Either you know how to read, write, add and subtract or you don't. If you ask a black kid and a white kid what 2+2 is, the answer is the same for both of them. I know a couple of NYC public school teachers who have told me exactly what goes on. The parents don't bother to check on their kid's progress the whole year. When the teachers request meetings they never show up. Then at the end of the year when the kid is left back, they scream racism. I was told about one mother who showed up demanding that her son be promoted despite failing grades because his teacher was a racist who failed her son because he was black. She paid so little attention to her son's schooling that she didn't realize that the teacher that she was complaining about was also black.

How did you figure out that you're the 5th best reader in the state?

no matter how racist what delta said seems, you know its true. not necessarily the chicken and crack pipe part. but almost every time children do really really poorly in school it is a lack of parenting and parental involvement in school more than anything.

i agree with you there, but he should of made his point (which is a good one) without bringing in racial stereotypes.

that's true, he could have avoided the "racial stereotype"...but, what we are talking about here is "stereotypical"...people that rely on the crutch known as "the race card"...do you not think these people fall within that little parameter in which the majority of hard working minorities have unfortunately been placed within.
I know of many well educated black people that don't fall in that column and they hate that stereotype as much as we do and are disgraced that others don't rise above it as they have...
people need to stop blaming their own shortcomings on others...where has accountability gone?

i hate how fucking sensitive our country has become...
i remember how much fun it was in gym on 'dodge ball day', because it was a chance to see where i fit in with all the other kids in my class. sure i got nailed in the head and felt that singing/ringing from getting nailed in the ear, but did you hear me cry about it? did i run home and tell mom how fucking cruel the school was? hell no! i got out there, grabbed the ball and threw the shit out of it. whether or not you think that it is cruel, it is a part of life, people. when you get out in the real world, there are people that are gonna hurt your feelings, and if you have been shielded your whole life, it's gonna hurt a hell of allot more.
now-a-days everything is bent on how the children 'feel'. kids that lose every goddamn game of the season take home a trophy! what the hell does that encourage? adequacy?
it has gotten to the point in texas where they are considering a pass/fail point system in school, to lessen the blow of d's. that means there would be no more a's, b's, c's, or d's....it would just be a "pass(ing)" grade. that’s total bullshit! why would we sell our children short? if a child makes a 'd', then get his parents into his life, like they should fucking be, and have him study. i made it through school with out ever failing...the shit is understandable if you TRY to learn it.
kid's need discipline, and we are heading in the wrong direction by basing everything on their feelings.

i agree chris, i loved playing dodge ball and i love playing football and lacrosse now. i also think kids should be taught to try and do well or else its going to be hard for them in the future.

You nailed it Chris. Now it doesn't matter how a child does as long as they" feel good about themselves". That is really going to hurt these kids later in life. No matter what these schools teach, winning IS important. When they are competing against twenty other people for one decent job the employer isn't going to give a shit if they have good self esteem.
BigMattTheHobo
05-24-2003, 09:28 PM
i think its important to feel good about yourself, but the kids also have to know that every person around them is competing against them for the best jobs and best positions in life. now im not saying go out and act like an asshole and just screw over every person who comes in your path, but they need to know life is tough and they cant always be supported.

why not? your life is about you...as long as you arn't breaking the law when you "screw them over", what wrong with it? it ensures my stability and shows that i mean business....did the red ball hit you too hard?;)

maybe it did....
i just dont think people should go and become corrupt like some CEOs who cut jobs just to make themselves richer.

that is the liberal side of you corrupting your judgment. not all ceo's are corrupt and i can guarantee you that none of them got there by not stepping on toes. i also said "as long as you aren't breaking any laws", so don't bring in mass lay off's like worldcom, enron, etc....

i didnt mean to sound like i was grouping all CEOs together as corrupt. i was talking about the few that have broken the law, and the few that have done things with their power that hurt others and help themselves.

Like he said. As long as you arent breaking any laws you can fuck people over as much as you want. Thats why the law is there after all. Go right to the edge for all i care. But dont go over it

Like... every category if human being on the planet? Why limit it to CEOs? Why not include people like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, most politicians, and every man woman and child between the age of 2 and 100?

i was just using CEOs as an example, you could use any kind of person in the whole world.

you were also only using the few CEO's that are under fire right now. if you were to take all of our nations business owners, and compare them to the few corrupt ones you know about, the percentage would be so minimal that it would null and void your statement.
we live in a COMPETITIVE world. capitalisim has created jobs for your parents to house you, feed you, and buy you a computer with a fucking internet connection. if it weren't for these 'evil' (see: my theory about satin and instigator looking for that 'hidden evil' in everything) CEO's creating jobs for them, then who would?

Wow...... I didnt think this many people cared about what I said. I know the racial comment was too much, but come on... It just gets really frustrating when you hear about this crap over and over again. If you cant pass a test after 5 tries than maybe there is a problem in the family system that caused that. Im really not racist, I was just tired and onry at that time. Thanks for keeping me in check guys.
ahh... only in America..... ..........Yep, only in America can you get a chance to succeed. Thanks for the point Rik. Hey dont forget to get extra mayo on that burger up there.
