Dear Tiscali.
I, like others, have found your service remarkable in curing my Internet addiction that "Internet Addicts Anonymous" could not cure for almost 10 years.
Before Tiscali, I would spend up to 18 hours a day surfing the net, downloading music (legally of course) and playing computer games online. But since moving my ISP to Tiscali I have found my daily Internet time has been steadily reduced from 18 to 10 to 5 to 1 to 0 hours a day.
I would also like to point out on some specific features of Tiscalis service I was particularly impressed with in your addicts plan.
Slow Internet Speed
In your advertisement you said you could get up to 8mb's a second on my line. I immediately thought, how am I going to give up my Internet addiction with a speed as fast as that. In theory you would be able to download a new computer game in no time. So I was quite scared I would never come off the Internet.
But thankfully when it came down to it, Tiscali where just teasing me. I was pleased to find it would take about 2 hours to download a flash game from MiniClip and almost 3 and a half days to download (not install) a Windows Vista Update (now yes that wasn't particular your doing, but I appreciate Microsoft for that). On average I would get about 30kb's a second, almost beating my previous Tiscali dial up product which was 5kb's slower.
By the end of my experiance I actually found, when my Internet did work, I didn't actually go on at all because of the slow speed. Very effective.
Daily Connection Outage
During the times of the day when I would use the Internet the most, previously with my old ISP I would have no bother at all getting online. But thanks to Tiscali, I was only able to get on for about 2 minutes (if that) without it disconnecting for hours at a time. This has slowly increased from 2 hours offline, to 8 hours offline to 10 hours offline a day. And now obviously to none at all.
I feel this method was very efective at curing my Internet addiction, and even when I wanted to get online so bad, not even a phone call to Tiscali could sort out this problem.
Excellent Phone Support
Curing my Internet addiction did prove to be quite hard at times. I did find from time to time, that I would phone up Tiscali begging (during their daily connection outage) for my internet to be put back online, but thankfully the operator on the other end did not give in. First of all I would like to thank Tiscali for employing people who can not speak clear English. Had the call center staff had understood me, I could have found myself back online and playing computer games again. She was very good at it I must say. Even after 30 minutes of getting her to understand what I was saying, she still didn't get my Internet working. I think they use some sort of hypnotism or mind trickory, as at one point I was told (despite my modem telling me different) that I was actually online and could surf the net, and I was starting to believe them. At one point I just sat there and stared at a blank screen, thinking I was actually playing World of Warcraft.
Finally Leaving Tiscali
Once Tiscali hit their final point and had successfully made me give up the Internet, I decided it was now time to leave Tiscali and go back to TalkTalk for my phone and just not get the Internet.
Tiscali where actually so dedicated to making sure I had given up the Internet, that they made sure I couldn't leave them for at least 3 months. They even charged me £200 for leaving, making sure I would never come back to the Internet again.
What was even better about Tiscali is they gave me no way of paying the total of £250 for last months bill + the leaving fee, so once again the generous Tiscali made me give them 5 hours of my time on the phone finding a way of paying the bill so I could move to another provider.
Final Note
Tiscali you have been brilliant. To sum things up, with your service you get:
1) Very slow internet speeds
2) Sometimes (mostly) no internet connection at all
3) Very difficult to move to another provider
4) Phone support staff who can't speak English
5) Phone support staff who physically (and mentally) can not make your internet work even if they want to
6) Excellent price of about £450 in total for 4 months service of broadband alone
7) Unpredictable service times. The guy who came out to fix my computer came a day earlier, and never showed up for the reschedule.

Just in case you didn't sense the sarcastic tone Tiscali, you are a piece of shit and for as long as I live I will make sure no one ever uses your server. How you can get away with a scam like this is unbelievable. You are a SCAM, and rip off people. I hope you go bankrupt within a few months and people catch on to your rubbish service.
