Does anyone else hate C&C? It's called an RTS, but the only real "S" is just who can spam the most units or who can build their SW first. Beginning and middle games are decent, but in the end game (where most games other than 1v1 go to) it's just endless waves of cheap units after another.

I love when people spout rhetoric before a game is released. Generals was pretty lame, yeah, but C&C3 is very, very close to the old games in terms of gameplay.

What? How did it suck? Cause it was 3d and didn't have grainy-sounding voice overs? It was extremely faithful to the original formula.

You just can't please nostalgiafags because nothing will ever live up to 2d graphics for them. That's all it is.

TBH the Red Alert franchise has gone a little downhill after the original Red Alert came out. Maybe I just have high standards for the series, but the original Red Alert raised the bar so high that I find it hard to enjoy any of the sequels. I will check out this game though since it looks promising.

I can at least agree to that. The way they did defense in RA1 was top-notch.

Not necessarily true. There's numerous ways to take out your opponent without using brute force. In the early red alerts, if you could rush his base with engineers, take out his construction yard, he was done for and couldn't build for the rest of the game. Superweapons shouldn't matter if you're a good player, there's numerous ways to deal with that as well. Take out his power, or send in a stealthed unit who can take out the superweapon. Also, if your opponent is building JUST tanks, he's going to be taken out by Rocket infantry.
