Been a few years since i've had an IT class, and i'm building a computer for a bro. The main power connector is a 2x12pin ATX connector, but it says it supports 2x10 ATX, and my power supply came with a 2x10 ATX connector that has a snap-on 4 pin connector to make it a full 2x12ATX. Should I use the full 24pin ATX connection, or leave it with the 2x10?
Also there is a 4-pin ATX connector to the left of the CPU, if I use the full 24Pin connection then would I have to also use that plug-in?
His original Mobo wouldn't POST, so I want to make sure this one goes right.

Use the full 24 pin arrangement. Your PSU has a 20+4pin power connector, meaning it will support the newer 24 pin standard along with the older 20 pin standard. Just attach the extra 4 pins to the side of the main power connector. I'm not sure why the motherboard says it supports 20 pin when it's really a 24 pin...usually if you attach a 20 pin PSU to a 24 pin motherboard it can damage it.
Also the other 4 pin connector you're talking about is called a P4 power connector. It directly feeds more power to the processor. You need to have that plugged in as well. It is different from that other 4 pin connector used to connect to the main power connector. So in total you would need the 20 pin + 4 pin for the main power, then an additional 4 pin P4 connector to connect to the processor. If your PSU doesn't have one of those P4 connectors you can get an adapter like this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812200084). Hope this helps.
