Seriously, I ordered a set of golf clubs during Spring Break, and I havn't gotten anything. No e-mail confirmation, no notes, nothing. I am thinking of, if nothing happens, bringing legal force to ebaum, seeing that I followed all the rules at the time. I searched before every upload to make sure there were no duplicates, I properly categorized, everything... Now I havn't gotten anything, except for hours of wasted time.

Seriously, for someone who loved the site (at the time) and put in more manhours than reasonably possible, he should be rewarded for his promised efforts...

It's not a cheat. Cheat is something against rules. There is no rule saying you can't send-to-a-friend. Ebaums had 25 points for a send-to-a-friend. It's not anyone's fault except ebaums that he weighed it that much.

I agree that it isn't really a cheat, but more of an exploit. To be able to rack up that many points by doing so little is what mucked things up for others who actually uploaded content and actively participated in the website.

I also agree that it was ebaumsworld.com's fault for not realizing the exploit sooner, that's why I said they should still give out the prizes if they can't tell whether a user was using the email exploit or not. Ebaumsworld fixed it now, and as far as I can tell there is no other way of getting points that you don't deserve. But, I am also sure that someone out there will find yet another way to screw the system over and in turn delay everyone else from getting their things once again.

Just saying that as far as I know only Ebaums girlfriend handles the ereps prizes, so I'm sure she's in knee deep sorting through who was exploiting and who wasn't. She seems like a nice and intelligent girl, so I'm sure she's on the ball getting things done.

The whole point of the email content option is to bring more traffic to the site. If you're just loading in a whole bunch of email addys to get the points instead of actually sending to people that may really come visit the site, then you're cheating. When there's a bunch of "mail undeliverable" messages getting returned, they're bound to realize that you exploited the system and take your points away.

What sucks is that I had 6 or 7 friends that I would regularly send content to. They didn't want to take the time to come here and search for it, but they were happy if I sent them a link they could click on to get their funny videos and whatnot. Now I get no points when I send them this stuff.

It's really unfortunate that some people had to abuse the system instead of doing it the honest way. Hopefully Ebaum won't reward that kind of behavior.

Sending stuff to your friends is not cheating. Mass spamming people you don't know and don't even know if their address works is 100% bullshit abuse.

You shouldn't have to be told not to do it. :dunce: And its not Ebaum's fault if people choose to act with out common sense and do really low things. Playing dumb and claiming "well you didn't say I couldn't" doesn't fly. No prizes for stupidity.
