Anyone who's played it knows you have ranks for each ranked category. Well I happen to mainly play in Lone Wolves. And it pisses me the fuck off. I have come to the conclusion the game is almost entirely based on luck. So much "Got him... WTF SOME OTHER GUY NADED HIM/ME? And "Yay I just spawned right next to the rockets mixed in with some "Two guys dueling with swords.. :nade: double kill! And of course the usual dosage of people killing people without the ball in oddball. Keep in mind this is all on top of bungees buggy...or, the lag.

/rant

TL;DR: Halo 3 FFA is based almost entirely on luck.

That is how a FFA works. All games have some component of luck, but just like team slayer skill is #1. Play style is a little different, favoring people to be very aggressive and hold back at the same time.

Think about that for a second. If that really happened then everybody would wind up at level 1. Clearly you are incorrect.

Ranks depend on the level of people your playing against too. So if your playing shit people with ranks below yours and win, you dont get as many points if you were to face people with higher ranks.

i played lone wolves a couple days ago and got 5th place. i was playing against a bunch of high 20s so i figured i would win pretty easy but nope. it was br start i think but people just pull out their ar as soon as they spawn and just rush you. they are so fucking bad that they are actually good.

I knew I was forgetting to say something. Yes, that's out FFA works in all FPS', but, in most FPS' people also usually die very fast, fast enough so that a second is enough to kill someone. In halo, it takes a good 3 seconds if you shoot ---> melee. The longer it takes to kill the more killstealing that's going to happen.

This one's my fault, but I hate how fucking inconsistent I am in halo. Some games, I actually go +10 with like 2 killing frenzies, and others, I'm -10.
