Hello eBaum's World!

I was going through the FAQ and noticed some important omissions:

1) It indicates that searching can be done by clicking " . . . on the 'Search' link in the navigation bar at the top of most forum pages." What 'Search' link?! I believe the option to search is only available to Premium Members or something like that. If that is the case, it should be stated in the FAQ.

2) The FAQ also indicates that including a signature is straightforward. I believe that getting your signature included with your post only becomes active after your 100th post. Again, something like that should be stated in the FAQ.

3) A person's username and password for the forum do not work for the main site in general (for example, submitting or voting on a user-submitted link). I assume thay are completely separate log-ons. So why not state it explicitly?! Why is this site content to let people bumble around?

Everyone knows you have to be "Premium" to search. No need for an up-date.

That's a new one on me, I'm guessing you have your settings wrong.

The main site and the forum to 2 separate sites with separate data bases. They are not tied to each other, other than through links.

None of what you've asked for takes rocket science to figure out.

You figured it out, see what I mean?

Not everyone knows you need Premium for Search. Which is stupid as shit.

Do you see an option to "Search" at the top of this page?

Where do you think they hid that at?

The FAQ is a generic FAQ created by Invision Power board, the people who designed this forum. Admins have the option of being able to change the FAQ but most do not. Actually, just about every forum I have been to that uses IPB just uses the standard FAQ, it's good enough in most cases and most ppl don't even look at it anyway.

Totally agree with that. If there are some features that are not available to everyone, it should be stated clearly.
