Jim Bob: "Wow Chuck, you really totaled your truck."
Chuck: "Well they didn't even bring it to the shop to do tests yet."
Jim Bob: "Chuck, your vehicle is upside down in a ditch with the entire cab collapsed in on itself, and you wheel axls are snapped in half."

Eh, why are some of you cheering about his injury? I would never wish for somebody to get hurt, and I would never cheer when somebody got hurt no matter what the circumstances.
Yes, Tom Brady is arrogant.
Yes, New England is a hated team.
But he's still a person with a career that, atleast for the moment, is in jeopardy.
Now, having said that, I am glad that the Pats probly won't get far in the playoffs this year. You can bet they'll be there, but without Brady I don't believe they can get past the second round. But I still think it's a little ignorant to applaud his injury.

Just because Brady is out dont mean the season is done. I remember when Bledsoe went down and that gave Brady his big chance. Matt Cassel can do the same. This is just one injury, still have 3 talented running backs, great wide recievers, one of the best O lines, and a beast defense. And some guy named Bill. So dont start the party yet.

What a pathetic hit that was. I dont care how anyone looks at the hit. It was a second effort lurch to the knee. It was conscious and deliberate. Pollard was down and lunged at Brady's legs while he was throwing. He should have stopped. He knew damn good and well that the ONLY way he was making contact with Brady was below the waist.
Let me ask you guys this....What kind of hell would have already been raised if that was Peyton Manning getting hit in the knees in the same manner?
The NFL would be raising hell, Because its their pretty boy. That is why the NFL is considered the National Corrupted League in my opinion.

True that, Jets still suck dick. They almost lost to Miami today. Offensive pass interference saved their ass.

Whatever dude. Watch the play again, Pollard fell down, Brady still had the ball in his hands, Pollard tried to grab his leg and bring him down while Brady was in throwing motion. It happened in a split fucking second. It was just a very unfortunate twist and was far from being intentional or dirty.
If Brady doesn't get hurt no one thinks anything of this play and it's not "dirty".

Tom hurt his leg, he didn't get lukemia. If that were the case, I'd be a dick. He hurt his fucking leg. I'm happy because Buttchin McGee isn't going to be flaunting his huge vagina around the league this season. He'll be healthy next year, or best case scenario getting fat on a couch because he can't play football anymore. Anybody have Pollard's address? That man is getting a dozen roses from me.
Oh and as for Matt Cassel, the guy doesn't know his ass from his elbow. Laurence Maroney will have to take some of the load and he'll probably end up getting hurt again. The offensive line will be useless because even if Cassel has an hour to throw the ball he'll still throw it in the stands or better yet an opposing player. The defense is NOT that good. They have a weak secondary, an injury prone d-line, and a linebacking crew thats above average at best. Sure they'll make the playoffs, but it won't mean shit when they play an actual football team.

According to NFL rules, the Hit was illegal. You are not allowed to hit a QB below the knees. Look at the video and you see that hit was below his knees which makes it a illegal hit. No if's or nut's about it.

Until it's been officially released, no one knows the outcome of Brady. If Brady is even so much as out for the next 4 weeks, it will be interesting to see how the Pats do without their 'star' quarterback. I would almost be positive they keep winning.
If it were Manning, the Colts would be doomed, they might as well all go look for new jobs. Luckily for the pats, Brady doesn't make their team.
The real question is, how long until Giselle dumps Brady's broken ass?

Actually, if you watched any of the coverage, everyone and their brother (even Trent Dilfer!...didn't know he was even DOING commentary...) stated how Tom Brady was "the face of the league" and that this was a "huge blow to the NFL." Stop making something out of nothing. If you really wanted to get picky, you could ask if anyone would be raising this much hell if Sage Rosenfels had taken a hit like that.
I can't fucking wait to see all the Tom Brady haters jaws drop when Matt Cassel steps up and becomes a top 10 QB this year,
Not to be the devil's advocate, but that is because the Chiefs had never played against him before. They didn't study film of Mr. Cassel and learn the way he does things. Yes, he threw 152 yards, but one of those was a 50+ yard bomb to Moss.
I'm not saying Cassel won't be "that guy," but don't be surprised if it becomes harder and harder for him to perform at that level each week.

This thread WREAKS of jealousy. Everyone loves to hate success. It is just like the hate for the Yankees in the past and now the nationwide hate for the Red Sox because of their recent success. What exactly is arrogant about Tom Brady? I can COMPLETELY understand why people don't like Belichick, but Tom Brady and the rest of the team conduct themselves with class during interviews all the time (with the occasional exception of Randy Moss.). Everyone loves to hate a winner. The guy came from nothing, stepped in when he got his shot, and made something of himself. So what if he bangs supermodels? He can, you would too if you could. That doesn't make him arrogant. Thats no reason to dislike the guy. He barely even speaks to the media, so its assumed that hes what the media portrays him to be. If Matt Cassel steps in and does what Brady did after Bledsoe went down everyone will find a reason to hate him too. At least hes not having Oreo licking contests with his brother on national TV. As far as Simms coming in for a workout/physical and/or Cassel starting for the rest of the year? Fuck that. Why not throw an offer at Culpepper? He is better than both of them and he has played with Randy Moss before in Minnesota. What do you think?
Let's have some intelligent football discussion, huh?

I'm not going to go into why I hate Tom Brady. Actually, I really don't know why I do so I guess I can't argue with your comment.
The Culpepper issue is a little more complicated since he has recently retired. Coming out of retirement is one thing, but it's harder than just say signing a deal.
As for the people who STILL think Brady will be back this season, you can initially walk on a torn ACL people. It's happened in the past where somebody walks off the field and finds out their season is over.

No one usually does. I think thats the most logical take in the situation. I've been watching ESPN all morning, and while I wouldn't mind Culpepper, I think Simms might be a better fight for the New England offense (Especially if you look at his 2005 playoff season) if he is healthy and at 100% with no spleen problems.
Simms might be a better deep threat than Cassel and Culpepper and most of the NE offense involves throwing the ball sideways on quick routes (with the exception of hitting Welker in tight spots) and opening up the defense for a deep shot on a play action or from a 5 wide set.
This is going to be an interesting season.

Wow dude. First of all, he averages 11+ yards per catch. Second of all, he is a 3rd receiver and his routes run him across the middle of the field, generally under the LBs. Let's see you take an open field shot in the middle of the field. Those routes are some of the nastiest ones to have to run, one of the main reasons a lot of TEs are put in those packages. Once you make that catch, you are open season for LBs, DBs, Safeties and even DL. Fuck that....

If you hate him for that your hating on the wrong person, he doesn't call the plays or choose what routes to run.
The guy you should be hating on is the offensive coordinator. And even then you still sound like an idiot because your hating on the guy that called the plays for the most prolific offense in NFL history.
I agree with you that sometimes you need to lower your shoulder for a few extra yards, but when your marching down the field at will 70% of the time it isn't really necessary. If he was in a situation where he had to get a 1st down and he was near the yard marker you don't think he would lower his shoulders and try and get there?
I do.
But if he didn't and pulled a QB slide or stepped out of bounds, yes, he would be a pussy. But you can't argue with the statistics, the guy is a commodity - a sure-handed slot/possession receiver who tied for the NFL lead in receptions last year.

Why not look at Daunte Culpepper, he just retired, and he had his best years with, who else? Randy Moss. I say sign Culpepper, at mid season look at Matt Cassel, see where he's at, if they are 3 and 5, or 2-6, make a change

Shit, we'll trade 'em Rex Grossman for Randy Moss.
We'll give you a handful full of Kaczur's OC's and one of Brady's old chinstraps for Rex, I think we'll hold on to Randy.

How about Rex for one of your offensive linemen?

Looks like no Simms or Rattay now, They may have signed Culpepper, or old man Vinny, or they could have traded for someone...this is getting interesting.

I haven't read the thread, I'm jumping in late, but I feel as though I can make a positive contribution to the level of discourse in the EBWF Sports section:
SUCK MY DICK BILL BELICHICK YOU CHEATING MOTHERFUCKER. KARMA IS A BITCH.
I feel bad for Brady, what with my having had 3 ACL reconstructions...I know how hard it can be. I wish him the best in his recovery.

I agree, Culpepper has a great long ball which works well for the NE recievers (Moss espically) May as well try and get him, he could come back if he thought he had a chance of winning the super bowl, but who knows Cassel could light it up.

I don't think Cassel is as talentless as many of you guys think he is. Obviously if a guy didn't even start a college game and then gets picked up by a team as good as the Patriots, he has to have something going for him.
I think Culpepper would be a horrible idea. Sure, he has the longball but he can't throw accurately to save his life and most of Brady's passes are in the >20 yards range
