how would this work tho? rock band has 5 buttons for the drums... the 4 drums and the kick... how would 3 extra cymbals work? that would require 8 buttons... is the game made for that....?????

From what I read, you can assign colors to each one. I guess that mean only 4 drums/cymbals matter. Along with the kick.

I put my 360 headset, cellphone, wallet, usb sticks, cds, cases, etc. on my old drum set. Its beside my chair, so why not. The sticky rubber padding makes everything not fall off.

not right now... there will be a bundle with the new equiptment sometime next month it think...? there will be a new drumb kit that looks just like the old one but its a lot quieter

Even if you wanted a EDK, you could probably get it cheaper then the ion one anyway (brain included)

Yeah, I fapped once or twice the first time I saw 'em like, a week ago :D , but realized the 300 dollar price tag is retarded. And if enough people don't buy them for the first few weeks or months, they'll be forced to drop the price. Hopefully to below 150 bucks. That would be manageable considering you can play both RB2 AND GH:WT with the original RB instruments. Then you could just buy the fancy pants drums and snag the games for 40-50 dollars each on eBay (that is if you want them both). And most people probably do want new drums, considering the RB drums have zero rebound and are about three times louder than the music itself. You have to have the t.v. fucking cranked to drown out the d d ch d, d d ch d of the drums.

Plus, if you wanna use them as a real elec. drum kit, like Macro mentioned, you have to buy the "brain" (actual electronic control part) separately, which probably tacks on another 100 bucks, at least. But even a $400 electronic drum kit is a piece of shit. A moderately good one'll set you back at least a grand.

I don't get why these games are so popular, there are several games on the computer that have the same gameplay, but they are all free! The game, and the hundreds (thousands?) of songs available are all free! You can still hook your computer up to the TV, you can still have multiple keyboards or game controllers for a group of people. Does having a shitty plastic 80+ dollar "instrument" really make it that much more fun?

Dude, the gameplay isn't the issue. Have you ever played any of the Guitar Hero/ Rock Band games? It's so much more fun to NOT have to crowd six people around a computer screen and play with a fucking keyboard. It's just retarded to even try. And yes, I've tried Freetar Hero and Frets on Fire and all that shit. They lag like hell and it's fucking stupid.
