Tony Romo Roadside Rescue: Cowboys QB Helps Stranded Couple

On Monday Night Football Tony Romo will be dodging the linebackers from the Philadelphia Eagles when the Dallas Cowboys host the Eagles for the prime time battle. But after his chin jarring game last weekend with the Cleveland Browns, Tony Romo was dodging traffic. Sort of.

The humble NFL star reportedly pulled up and helped a couple that was stranded in a parking lot after their car had a flat tire. A report notes that Romo's good guy persona is real and when he saw the stranded couple and pulled over to assist Bill and Sharon White, who were busy trying to change a car tire after a blow out.

From the Star-Telegram, "Bill was fooling with that tire, and I was standing beside the car watching him," Sharon said. "The next thing I know, a nice-looking young man, very well-dressed, but with something strange on his chin, he walked up, smiled, and said, 'Hey, you need some help?'"

"I didn't get a good look at him at that point," Bill said. "We were both trying to get the tire pumped up." Sharon, however, took a second look. "You are Tony Romo," she said. No reply, just a smile, and then it was back to work on the compressor.

After Romo helped the couple get their tire aired up and the car back on the road, he finally confessed that he was indeed the real Tony Romo. Sharon said, "I did something no 50-year-old woman should be doing, but I screamed real loud, and then jumped up and hugged him."
Before all you haters jump in and start bagging on the Cowboys I would just like to say that this is a really nice thing to see. A multi-million dollar athlete stopping to help someone out when he could have just kept on driving. Mind you this was on Sunday night, after a game that day, a hard hit and a chin full of stitches, and a couple hours in the air. I think I would have just kept on driving.

EDIT: Sorry, here is the source.

Yeah I heard about this last week. Honestly, if Romo was on any other team I'd like him.

I commend you for that. I feel the same way about many people from the Giants, Eagles, and the Redskins. I hate like hell the fact that I have to have McNabb on my fantasy team but I could not pass it up.
