A rod is the best player in the game New Yorkers are gonna feel stupid for booing him when he breaks the Home Run and every other hitting record in a few years.

He's an extremely consistent performer and puts up great stats. He's the definition of "not clutch". He may go down as the best statistical player ever, but people will never agree that he's the best player of the game.

Well when he fails to take the Yankees to the promise land each season. More and more fans are starting to hate him. Terrible postseason numbers. If the Yankees keep him for next season they are fools. He isnt helping that team at all. Atleast that is my view on him.

Oh yea their not gonna keep him he only got signed to a 10 year deal last year and in 2007 he was the most clutch performer in baseball he carried the team to the playoffs but you cant rely on one guy all the time Giambi sucks and they have no pitching all the good yankees teams had great pitching

Gee, I thought baseball was a team sport. If you mean that Yankee fans are starting to hate him, you are mistaken. I don't really see how you could know something like that anyway. Also, I don't really see how you could say that he isn't helping the Yankees at all. A .303 BA with 101 RBI is a pretty good year. I doubt you'd find any manager who would pass up those numbers.

Do you yankee fans have your head up your ass? He has been on your team since 2004. And its the same story with him. He eats up the team's payroll with that huge contract. He is a clubhouse cancer. The Yankees have had good teams and made it to the playoffs. Each time he has a poor performance. He rarely gets a clutch hit to win a game. He does get homeruns in the 9th inning, but most of the time the Yankees are losing by 10 with no pressure on him.

You dont have to think this. But I think the Yankees are better off without him. And I dont know what your talking about, there are tons of Yankee fans who hate Arod. I have watched some games and seen him get booed. They are just losing patience with him. If the Yankees want to win in the playoffs anytime soon. They should dump his ass.

Dam you guys are really in denial. FUCK the MVP what the fuck is wrong with you guys. It seems you have the same thoughts and mind as Gay Rod, is that all you care about his numbers and winning the season MVP. Did he suck your dick last night or something? Lets see him win a World Series MVP. Am I the only one who has the same thoughts on this guy?

Oh Red Sox just clinched, Yankees officially eliminated suckers.

I really don't think that the biggest problem the Yankees have is money. They just built a new stadium for fuck's sake. Also, like I said before, championships are built by an entire team. One player can not ultimately determine the outcome of a series based on stats alone. There really has to be special circumstances for that to be true, such as striking out in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs multiple times in the series. Also, him getting booed doesn't mean that fans hate him. Fans may not appreciate him as much when he isn't hitting, but as soon as he breaks out of that slump you won't hear one boo in the crowd. Take Jimmy Rollins for example. One day he talks some trash about his fans, the next day he gets booed every time he ate shit. The day after that, all is forgiven and he is cheered for doing well. There is no hatred.

Speaking of hatred, I'll choose to ignore your following post due to it being just really immature. Have a good one.

ARod was great in clutch situations last season, but he is the worst player in baseball in clutch situations this season, and that has been the norm throughout his career.

Look at "Clutch Stats"

What makes you think that he will play long enough to break all those records.....he'll have enough money in a few years that he'll probably say its not worth it anymore and he'll settle down.

good point tilt, and under his contract theres no way he wont break the record if he stays healthy

Moose i dont think you understand the whole idea of the contract when he signs a 10 year deal thats what happens he doesnt play 5 and say im done that defeats the whole purpose of the CONTRACT.

ARod is definately a great player, but he's still got some things to prove. Being one of the greatest requires more than just batting skills. You've gotta be able to hold down your position, his being 3rd base, and you've gotta be clutch, which he is not. He's got a way to go. He's still young, tho.

best? arguable, but most likely not true.. in our era, maybe, but probably not true. He's got time to prove he is the best.. Right now he has the 144th best career batting avg, behind 12 active players. HRs do not make you the best player, HRs are just celebrated more.

Albert pujols has almost as good of a chance of breaking the record as AROD. Griffey could have had the record had he not been injured so many times.

The best player in MLB history would not be called Mr.April.

Na, im pretty sure the person with the most homeruns and rbi's is the best player and I agree with you that Pujols has a chance but Arod at 33 has 550 homeruns and is always a 300 plus hitter and should be considerd one of the best in the game at least, and he has many years so prove himself in the playoffs.

Well there was talk at one point about him going to the Angels. But now that they have Teixiera not happening.

You can tell me no, but I dont see him ever proving himself in the playoffs. That slapping incident was classic.

Im sure the Yankees will give Teixeira a deal he wont be able to refuse next year and steal him from the Angels, considering Alex Rodriguez,s agent Scott Boras is also Teixeira,s agent and he will sway him to play in New York. Especially if the Angels dont get it done this year.

As for the slapping incident i think it shows a lot of heart, he knew it was the only way he could get a hit so he took a shot and he missed that happens. A man shouldnt be looked down upon just cuz he's got some balls.

first off i kinda hate the guy but im not an idiot.. he is a good player. when people hate him and say he sucks their stupid the only reason that makes sense for hating him is that he;s really greedy and way over paid. yea he's good but not that good to make that damn much. and yea he like to choke in the post season but besides that he stays steady.

The best player in history? Granted he will break the record for HR's one day but to be considered the best ever you need to perform in the clutch...which he has not done ever in his career
