Meh it was alright, I have seen way better than that though. I just want to see a fight where they don't grab on to eachother and actually fist fight, I know they do that so they can hold themselves up but it would be sweet to see straight fists being thrown.

So fucking stupid. I'm sorry, I love the sport of hockey, but the fights are just retarded. They add nothing to the game. On top of that, the one dude just kept punching the other in the back of the helmet. How's them knuckles feel now?

Are you retarded? He was uppercutting and hitting under the back of the helmet... also, obviously you know nothing about hockey... even getting hit in the helmet hurts in a fight.

Yes, I am we todd did. Sofa king we todd did. I knows nuffing about that puckey stick game dems play in snow and Canadia.

- One uppercut barely landed.
- They punched themselves out. Great fight! Yay.
- Fighting adds absolutely nothing to a sport.
- Punching someone in the helmet, I don't care who you are, hurts your hand more than the helmet. What the fuck, you think they wear helmets because they look cool?
- You just like arguing
- There are better fights at the local McDonalds than this
- There are better fights every night in the NHL
- I'm done with you

There are not better fights every night in the NHL.

I do like arguing.

Fights add a LOT to the sport which you've obviously never played.

You have never been in a fight have you? I guess you don't have many chances to get in fights when you play video games in your dark room for 8 hours a day and spend your lunch hour at highschool in the computer lab posting here.

If it were so integral to the sport, why is it banned on every other level than the NHL and their feeder leagues?

Other things add momentum, like, you know, good play. And scoring. And hard hits. And great through passes. And ridiculous saves.

I stand by my original point that while fights are entertaining, and were actually promoted as entertainment (a la wrestling) in the early days of the league to attract attendance, they do not actually add anything to the sport. I'll watch a hockey fight just like everyone else, but I don't think they are needed.

Fights are huge. If two fighters get in a scrap and one murdalizes the other then the winner's team is gonna be pumped and so are the fans especially its the home team. The problem with this one is that it was so long. While there were some big hits nobody went down and there was no gushing blood so there wasn't a clear winner. I for one vote for more fights.

I agree. What in the hell was so good about that fight? I have seen better at a D league game in Dallas.

Ok, does time still go while fights are happening? If so, I agree it is the most retarded event to happen in any sport.

If the time stops, It's just retarded and an excuse to make hockey more exciting.

I love hockey, especially when I am there, but the fights are pointless and like this one, it's just a bunch of wild flying arms that luckily may hit the opponent in the right spot.

You obviously don't know anything about hockey if you think it doesn't add anything to the sport. It's the greatest old school thing left in major sports. If hockey was an American game, fighting would have been banned 50 years ago..appreciate it and learn more about it.

actually fighting has alot to do, big players will try to pick a fight or play real hard and dirty with smaller but more usefull players, and you cant have your stars fighting and getting penalties, thats when you send in your team goon so they can go over and talk shit over with the guys on the other team, if that doesnt work they fight. fights might be stupid but since theyre legal u need to be smart about it, its not just random fight to show off (most of the time)

I agree with everything you said in this post except that it adds nothing to the game. There are reasons why teams have players such as Tie Domi or Sean Avery; they are enforcers. They are little fuckers that skate around and try to stir shit up. Fighting to get your team pumped up works and there was evidence of it in the Maple Leafs vs Devils game last wedneday. Devils were up 2 goals, leafs scored 3 unanswered and were all over them for a bit. Devils send on someone to start shit and it pumped them up. A minute later they gained their momentum and scored.

Most of the time the fights are shitty. I want to see some heads get busted because most of the time its gay and they are just holding each other and struggling. But fighting brings a lot to the game, I'm sorry but you're wrong.

Wish hockey was bigger over here=(
I quite enjoy watching it, the fights do add a lot to the sport, momentum and confidence for a start. I'm not too sure about the law, is fighting actually allowed, because in that second video the winner got sent to the sin bin???

Theres a lot of fights in lower league Rugby, its really strict in the top leagues but in the semi-pro leagues there are a ridiculous amount of punch ups. I've been in 3 or 4 games with the under 17s where fighting has led to the cancellation of a match. The funny thing is afterwards both teams go and have a drink down the pub together, its just the nature of the game.

But fans love watching fights, adn if you ever played hockey the adrenaline gets going and you want to fight the guy that just pissed you off. They have reduced the fights in NHL, but still when they do happen people love them.

If both players are engaged in a fight they both go to the "penalty box" (americanized version of sin-bin) for 5 minutes.

Yeah, fighting in hockey is very similar. Guys will congratulate each other after and a lot of the times they will talk before the fight as they are setting it up. Very old school and tough, I love it.
