Viking: Battle For Asgard

I picked this game up for $10.00 at a garage sale this weekend. I wanted to buy it awhile back but the reviews kept me from buying it. I'm glad I bought it. Best $10.00 I've spent in a long time!
Has anybody else played this game and liked it? I can't believe it got such shit ratings/reviews.
If you like 3rd person action/adventure/rpg games, then you will probably like this.

I have it, it's a great game.
If they had included some sort of alternate game mode, like Spartan: Total Warrior's Arena mode and some unlockables it would be a lot better.

That's cool. I thought I might be the only person that liked this game.
The two things I don't like, you can't run and you can't swim. Other than that, I really like the game. I agree with you about the unlockables. Bigger and better axes/swords would have been cool. Or maybe even a badass gold plated viking helmet. lol...
I never played Spartan: Total Warrior. I just watched a couple videos of it. I might just clean the dust off of my PS2 and buy it if I can find it used somewhere other than GameStop.

It's a ton of fun, it's a lot like Viking, but you're a spartan, and you don't spend 90% of the game on your own. You even unlock new weapons with different special attacks and everything. As for arena battles, you unlock new allies and items to help you out.
It's like they forgot to finish adding a lot of extra content to Viking.

I absolutely LOVE 3rd action/adventure/RPG games (which I think this generation sorely lacks) and I thought that game sucked so hard. It was truly, a piece of garbage. I tried playing as much as I could until I completely lost interest... which is fairly early on.

I really enjoyed it. Sure it was repetitive and missed out on a lot, but when you watch the two armies gather and then it zooms in and you charge...baaah..satisfying.
