So who's playing the demo? I almost crapped my pants when I got attacked by the dogs for the first time. They are so much more annoying than the chopper in COD4. You could at least hide from the chopper, you can't escape the dogs. Just shoot them.

I've found that unless your in a tank or in a place that only a ladder can get to they always seem to find you.

But they are easy to kill, 1 shot with anything will take them down.

the way you outsmart them is knife their asses... but man if your running from a firefight and looking for a hiding spot, the dogs will be on your ass, and likely scare the shit out of you once you think your safe.. one jumped out of nowhere on me and i almost flailed my arms in the air.

Really? I've never had any issues taking them down with anything with one shot, so far. I haven't used a pistol on them so maybe that won't take em down.

I'm liking the game so far. I just wish that there were more than three maps, even though it feels like there's more. The only thing I don't like is how I put somebody into Last Stand, and they outshoot me with a fucking pistol.

I see. And sorry to be pedantic, but hardcore mode reduces the players health from 100 to 30. At least that's how they did it in CoD4. The bullet damage stays the same.

Yes. If you have xbox just go to the marketplace under demos. If you have a PC I think you have to sign up on www.callofduty.com. It's coming out in 3 days, so it's not the end of the world that you missed the demo.

I finished the single player campaign tonight (I'm playing a rental from Rogers). So far, I'm impressed.

BTW, the "Black Cats" mission was fucking awesome.

I rented the game last night. So far I am not impressed. It feels more like call of duty 3 with a hint of cod 4. It has nothing on modern warfare as far as fun or innovation goes. Don't buy it if you haven't already.

It's crap ... imo. Just a linear boring path ... shoot the sniper who runs from window to window ... oh now run out the building in scripted path ... oh shoot the scriped enemy ... end of level. Nothing on the Call of Duty 4 level in terms of suspense and atmosphere.

The game level design is just awful. The levels are very bad, leading to choke points, confusing and boredom. Combine that with the terrible hit-warnings a enemy could be standing right next to you and you wouldn't know. Too many time have I run into a room shot up, what i thought was, everyone only to die becaues some dude was spraying at me from behind ...

Shooting feels very detached and fake, all the guns and explosions are very quiet compaired to the surrounding sound, the accuracy is too perfect for the enemies health and there are far to many enemies thrown at you, leading to a unrealistic, repetative and unsatisfying number of kills. At least in the previous Call of Duty's your weapon had weight and punch. All the weapons in this game are terribly plastic and unsatisfying.

I want to like this game, but I can't hold up the campaign for more than a few missions before I just get bored and appaled at it. Call of Duty 1,2 and 4 at least kept my interest till I finished the campaign.

Online is an even worst shit fest, joining my first game to find the scores at 144 kills ... even worst is that there is a zero skill level envolved leading to a boring challenging 20 minutes. It's a dumbed down COD4 frag fest. Argh ... such a mess. I'll contiue playing it online but I get kinda of bored of a game once I no longer find it Challenging. Hopefully there will be some decent players soon otherwise I'm done.

Sorry to be such a buzz kill but this game just feels so hollow.

You know Random, I'm actually one of the few guys who agrees with alot of what you say. To be honest, if Im paying 60 bones for a fucking game, it better be fucking good.

Anyways, I competely agree with you on what your saying. The game feels like Treyarch just tried to tap everything they could get out of the whole Call of Duty 4 craze. I love Call of Duty 4, I think its the perfect shooter. Nothing tops its smooth, fast, and accurate flow. Everything in the game is perfect in my eyes. So if your going to use CoD 4 as a sketch pad, you better not fuck it up.

Play more so you know where to look. When I didn't know the maps I would get dominated by campers but now I pop'em like pills nucka.

I know the maps like the back of my hand, but since the game is only a week hold not everyone does, so they camp. Even when I know they're camping, if a whole team camps, there isn't much you can do because they will rape your shit most of the time with bouncing betty's and by just being a corner whores. Take for instance on COD 4, if a whole team camped in the computer room in vacant, there wasn't shit you could do. I was on a team of 6 of the top 1500 players in the world and we couldn't beat this group of campers. We played the same guys for the next 6 maps and beat them by an average of probably 750-210.

I just got zombie mode so I'm playing that and competitive co-op.

My strategy is to just open the hell door as soon as possible, camp the shit out of that room. 2 people watch the 2 windows and the wall and 2 people spray the doorway. Works pretty well. Go to the magic box between each round and with a lucky weapon draw, you should be able to make it pretty far

For instance in the campaign movie sequences the lighting is drastically flawed.

There are a couple of redeeming points. Seems like throwing a smoke grenade and running up on a group of Japs with a flame thrower never gets old.

If Call of Duty 4 hadn't come out last year, and we hadn't already played a multiplayer like this WoW would have been amazing. However since its practically a clone of the basic principles of COD4 is kinda ruins it.

However:

- The map/level design in WOW is far far far better. Much more open enviroments and less enclosed cover everywhere crap.

- Weapons ... not so much. The accuracy and power of the WW2 weapons are way to unrealistic.

- Dogs > Helicopters. You hear the dogs coming, but you can also stop them.

- Still got the stupid martyrdom and last stand perks ... -1

- Nice amount of unlockables, hopefully they'll last longer than COD4.

- Tanks are done very well, don't feel overpowered or useless.

All in all, it seems the multiplayer was were the real attention went in this game. Which is a shame because the singleplayer campaign really leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

So, I just prestiged yesterday. Already a level 17 again. I really enjoyed using the majority of the weapons. My only complaint on this game is the spawning and the tanks. Put those two together and you get a really pissed off kid that spawns into a tank blast.

The only problem with the accuracy is that all weapons hit the target on the first shot no matter what. The only ones that should do that are the rifles and bolt action rifles. Maybe some of the LMG's like the BAR. But that's about it. I think everyone would be super pissed if they made them any less accurate though. Including me.

Well I played online for about 2 hours and developed some first impressions. I'm going to have to agree with random's comment about it feeling like a cheap Chinese ripoff. It's basically COD4 with new maps, crappier guns, and more glitches. That being said its still the best online shooter out at the moment so I'll forgive it because after all COD4 was awesome and this is practically the same thing so I still really enjoy it, just not quite as much as its predecessor because I would have liked to see more changes. Right now it feels like I payed $64 for a few more maps. Also they really fucked the snipers up. Why do I need four versions of the same fucking gun? In the end its still COD and COD kicks ass, so I'll have a blast as before.

PTRS is the same as every other sniper in MP, even has a reduced clip to 5 shots. The only advantage is its semi auto rather then bolt (although you can still only shoot at the speed of a bolt action you dont have that dip)


Also this game did tanks well, not overpowered or underpowered.

My only complaints are spawns and bouncing betties (i dont like having to use bomb squad)

If you bought COD4 and like it, then yes, it's a buying game. If you want a semi-short campaign and a little bit of fun multiplayer, then it's a renting game.

I have only played multi-player because the single player is completely fucking broken for me and despite googling for hours on end and trying to obtain support I have yet to be able to play past the first level, which was sub-par, but I don't really mind. I love the multiplayer, but I never managed to play COD4 multiplayer (because I downloaded it cos im a hardcore OG pirate)

I think i'm pretty dam lucky not to have played COD4 multi player though at this stage because I can enjoy the multi player to the fullest. Weapons of fun, unlockables and perks are cool except for a few.

And tanks are ok, but I generally dislike them because the way they can be abused in smaller servers. When tanks are being used in a 32/32 server game it's okay because it's fair, the tanks strong as heck but there's a whole lot of people to take em down, but when your in some server with 8 other guys and three of them decide to hop in a tank each... well it's not so fun.

But yes, I give this game 8 out of 10 thumbs up

Its a good game overall, but i just dont often have the urge to play it. When i had cod4 i always wanted to play it. I think the gameplay in 5 is too much like 4, so if your like me and you played 4 alot then 5 is still fun just i get used to it too quick.


I honestly get like 30 or more kills each domination game, i basically run and gun as much as possible but i still keep a 1.65 ratio. I get more kills per game than anyone ive ever seen play, but im still like 130,000 ranked in kills. In cod4 i was always in the top 30,000 in kills. I havent even put a day in yet.

I like Call of duty, but IMO the levels are too tight and packed full of too much stuff. I personally like BF:Bad Company online, the levels are nice and big, so you can snipe, drive tanks around, fly the helicopter, or if you want to fight tactically you can too. It makes spawn camping alot less common since you spawn so far apart.

Just got this on the 360 and think its quite good. I think the graphics and gameplay were a lot better on COD4 could be becuase I'm not used to the weapons and level lay out yet but I find that you can't hide ANYWHERE, if your shooting someone then about 5 seconds later you're getting shot by someone else it's shit where as on COD4 you could quite happily find a nice spot, shoot a few people then move on to another safe area without getting the shit kicked out of you.

Castle glitch was fun at first, I literally had huge fight under the map, don't think many people were left on top of it. But it got really shit and now at the start of it I just wait for people to rub themselves up that wall and pick em off with my sniper, the great thing is they come back 4 times or so before getting the message so I end up with a good kill streak and get dogs. This gives me an opportunity to shout "Feast my prettys" down the mic in a german accent. Should get patched soon.

I swear every server i enter the enemy is using ppsh and martydom or ppsh and last stand or tank whoring.

The satchels are a godsend after the usless c4 in cod 4. Nothin beats droppin em from the walkway in roundhouse right on the gunner.

Single player can be tedious at times (specially on Hardened/Veteran), death cards are a very good change from intel and im loving the power ups.

Im playing on ps3 and the trophies are fun to hunt for. Took me ages to assinate the general bloke on vendetta with the pistol but i got there eventually.

Overall id say 8/10. Good game but a few more months development would have made a bigger difference.

Well i have the same g card and 4gb of RAM and a Q6600 Processor, but run it no probs all on max. So don't know whats up with yours, maybe have a look over at the official forums for the game.

Anyone on PC having mass lag issues?
I got 4GB ddr2, an E8400 Oc`ed too 3.6 and a HD4870 and im getting no more then 20 fps constant and its pissing me off.
I have a shittier PC than you and I ran at best settings with no lag or framerate

I hate fucking spawning at the dogs spawn point....that's the worst shit ever. I'm disappointed that not all the guns have unlockables to them and they all don't go up to 150 kills for achievments.

Even though I bought the game the day it came out.....I'm still extremely fucking pissed that they took out the tree climbing perk and the underwater perk. I was looking forward to jumping out of a tree like a ninja and fucking stabbing someone in the dome or fucking aqua man-ing their ass and popping up like a fucking betty after I snuck around underwater.

heh, found out the reason for the lag was becuse in CCC i had the AA/AF cranked to 32x

i thought this game would be great before it came out even though all my friends thought it would suck. then when it came out they all loved it and i hated it. you would think that a game thats almost an exact copy of cod4 should be just as good right? wrong. theres alot of little things that bother me too. like how all the snipers have the exact same crosshair. and i could go on forever about how unrealistic the weapon stats and their attachments (or lack of) are.

but with that being said, i guess its still a pretty good game. it just doesnt seem like they worked very hard on it. the next cod game will probably blow it out of the water

I beat the game on veteran. It wasn't fun, but I kept going. I had to beat the game. I've never cursed so much in my life.

It was definitely harder than COD4 on veteran.

Did they ever add anything good to this game? The spawn system really turned me off from this game. And I couldn't be fucked going through prestige again. The only weapons that were really fun to use in this game was the STG-44 and the PTRS. The maps weren't even fun to play on, which is a key element.

you could click on "map" in the serverlist and look for the one you want to play. just dont forget to check the ping before you join.

Yep...say what you want about COD 3, but you could play any map you wanted anytime. The game wasn't as good, but the online setup was the best there has ever been.

I have started CoD: WoW on veteran but I haven't gotten very far. It seems to be a shit ton harder then the others were on veteran.

I have finished CoD 2 on veteran and I had to do it three times to get the achievements because I did it before they patched the corrupt game save error. I played though 3 once and that was all I could take of that shitastic ass game so I never tried for veteran. I am still stuck on the final portion of CoD 4 on veteran. I can't seem to get passed "No Fighting In The War Room".

I will give it credit for the single player, because that sells me in most games, it was fun. But from a Multiplayer perspective....no....If I want that game play, ill play CoD4

I have to admit, this game on Veteran was ridiculous. Some stages literally took 3 or 4 hours to finally get through.
