So I haven't been able to find an answer anywhere so far so I figured I'd post it here. I downloaded some videos from the xbox live marketplace and whenever I try to watch any of them it just goes to a black screen and I have to restart my 360. Any videos I buy work fine, but anything I rent won't. I rented them for HD (720p) and I have a 720p HDTV running via HDMI. I've never had any issues before and now all of a sudden every rented video I try won't work. Any ideas? I contacted microsoft but no response.

Sounds like your Xbox is broken, which is weird because I've never heard of one going wrong yet.

I just got it, its my third replacement. Everything has worked fine until now. I think it has to do with the video settings of some sort, because I was going through my videos and every video that uses standard definition works, but every HD video doesn't. Hmm. Maybe it's the tv? But any game I play works fine, its just the HD videos.

Ok, now it gets strange. So I tried 3 different HDMI cables to make sure it wasn't a bad cable. So I tried playing a video, the screen went black, unplugged the HDMI cable, plugged it back in, and now it works. It only works if I unplug the HDMI and plug it back in. So I'm leaning towards an issue with the TV.

That happened to my friends PS3. We weren't getting any picture but all the plugs were in correctly (he was using Component not HDMI). So we unplugged the cable from the ps3 and then put it back and we got a picture again.

That happened to my PS3 with an HDMI, must be a technology fault.
