I know this forum gets a lot of these questions, but I need to know. I'm looking for a good 32" TV for under $600, and I want 720p. These are the two I've been looking at.

If you don't mind, tell me which of those two is the best, and/or tell me if you have a better choice for me. Thanks.

LG make the best LCD tv's hands down.

LG make the cheapest LCD tv's hands down.
Corrected.
Samsung make the best LCD tv's.
Advice to OP, they're all the same at end of the day, go on specifications rather than looks/brand name. (but usually the better brand names gain their reputation because of their quality products)

I'd go with the Sony. To me the Sony LCD's look the best. Samsung isn't bad. Personally I'm not a fan of Sharp. Toshiba's are really good, but the bargain only becomes apparent on higher end models as they perform close to on par with Sony's but for less money (minus the xbr of course). LG's have always looked like grainy bland crap to me. Honestly for gaming a plasma is your best bet due to no response time and motion blur. Don't give me the burn in crap, because that is pretty much eliminated unless you play for like 12 hours straight you might get some very temporary afterimage. So if you can afford the extra 100-200 go for a plasma, otherwise stick with the Sony.

Tell that to both the 32 inchers I owned that broke within 2 months of purchase.
And my LG was £400 for 26 inch, that's pretty pricey. Probably the best piece of technology I own.

My friend has the second TV. To be honest, I would rather get the first one.

I agree, LG make incredible televisions. My 32" Samsung is sitting in the next room because it keeps shutting down on me after having it on for only a few minutes. It's only 2 years old BTW and only used it for gaming a few hours a week.

Holy shit, one of my Samsungs did the same thing, I'd be watching TV or gaming and it'd randomly turn itself off, lol. I sent it back and got a replacement, and the darn thing started losing pixels every day. Got a refund that time, bought an LG and never looked back.

I can agree on LG having great products. My 22'' lcd monitor is perfect, no dead pixels or anything.

I've owned two Samsung LCD monitors and plan on buying a 50" Samsung LCD TV. I've have nothing but good things to say about their LCD products. They are top notch.

I'd probably get the first one. It seems to be the best value.

I would say Samsung, with LG as a close second. When I worked at Best Buy, those two were always rated the highest. Sony has always been an all-around amazing electronics company, so you can't go wrong with them. But Samsung and LG put more focus into their LCD TV's.

The general consensus is Samsung is the better brand, any review site will back that up. Just to let you know though, most Samsung and Sony LCD's are made in the same factory, its how good their electronic engineers are that makes them different, not the materials. Also when buying a TV from walmart check the serial number, because sometimes they have a "budget" model which is different then one you would find at most electronic stores, and in most cases is inferior.

I suggest that you check the LCD TV Ratings (http://www.smartratings.com/electronics/plasma_and_lcds) of various brands. This is what most people do if they have no any idea about certain products.
Hope this helps.

I got my 32" LCD from Best Buy on Black Friday for $400. And it is amazing so far.
What you should really do though is go to a Circuit City if there is one near you. Because they are going out of business, you may be able to find some incredible deals there. I know here in NC, there is a commercial advertising 25% off TVs.

I hear that a flat screen plasma tv with Hi-def is best for gaming, but i would still have to go with my projector. The screen quailty is not that great, but it makes it up by the sheer scale of it!!!

I have a Samsung 52" LNT5265FX i bought about a year and a half ago. It's stunning. My father bought a brand new Pioneer Elite KURO a few months ago, and he's pissed off that my TV's picture looks so much better than his.
I have some infuriating problems with the Samsung receiver i have attached to the TV, but the TV itself is perfect.
