If your PC can run Fallout 3 good, I'd say get Mass Effect on PC. It runs better, the interface is better, the controls work better with a mouse and keyboard, and the DLC is free. But definitely play that game. It's amazing.

For 360, get Gears 1&2 and Lost Odyssey, and if you're a fan of hack 'n' slash, get Ninja Gaiden 2 also.

You are one of the very few that doesn't like Gears of War. It's an awesome game, and the second is simply amazing, aswell. I'm not big into "alien" type games, but Gears of War set a new standard.

I'm with Frac on this. I didn't like gears. It's such a basic generic shooter being carried by a great engine. The cover system isn't anything to boast about, the 3rd person view is annoying, the multiplay is boring and slow.

I'm a fan of Epic, probably a long time before you even knew who they were, but gears is just mediocre. Thankfully gears is finished though, now they can go back and fix the title that made them who they are today.

I would reccomend getting Gears 1 first, or both of them. It should be $30 new for gears 1.

Also I second Marvel Ultimate alliance, pretty fun action RPG, forgot about it. Try to get the gold edition, it has more characters and shit.

Also, have you checked into any arcade titles? Some pretty fantastic games on there. I would recommend browsing and downloading some free trials once you buy the xbox.

I agree with you on gears, i didnt like it at all. It was the same thing over and over, the story was horrible. You go through some new area things seem cool, and then all of the sudden a gun fight breaks out, you win, everything calms down, go to a new area, and it its all starts over. Thats pretty much the entire game. Ill probably RENT the 2nd one if/when it comes out just to try a different game on my new projector.

No, the campaign wasnt fun, but I figured the multiplayer would be fun just like it was with halo 2, and it wasnt, the match making, and overall layout of the online sucked, so i sold it.

Ha, thank you. Finally someone gets it. Gears was never meant to be a really deep gaming experience, but it delivers with quick simple fun. I dare any of you get with 4 of your friends and play a couple waves of horde and not have fun...it's impossible. I was not a big fan of Gears 1, I enjoyed the single player campaign, hated the multilayer and got rid of it. However, they have nearly mastered the cover system, improved many of the small annoying things about the enemies from the first annnnnd...ill say it again...horde.

If you don't like Gears it's not because the game is mediocre, its because it's not your style of game. I don't like Tales of Vesperia, or whatever, or Lost Od..whatever...does that mean both those games are steaming piles of filth? Perhaps, ha but really it's because I'm not a fan of those style RPGs.
