*sigh* there is no one way to create a game, your just being a noob.
If you want help on one specific thing, I could probably help you, but you can't just explain in one paragraph how to make a flash animation.

I know of a book that is a VERY good Flash tutorial. It's called How to Do Everything With Macromedia Flash MX.
You can buy it at pretty much any bookstore in your area or online.
They update it every year. Here (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v148/ZZDaikun/howtodoflash.jpg) is a picture of the cover of the latest edition.
The authors are Bonnie Blake and Doug Sahlin.

hey man thanks for the post about the flash book, i might get that, but for the original question, the best thing you might wanna use for making games is as he said, flash mx is the best, there are two at the moment, Flash MX and Flash MX 2004, 2004 is shit to be honest i cant use it and i have been using flash for years.
but recently i have been using several other things to make some 3d games with to begin with:-
3d Canvas - by Amabilis Software, you can download a freeware edition from www.amabilis.com, secondly:-
DarkBasic - by someone can't remember who but they also have freeware editions for software, you get that at www.thegamecreators.com
so try them and if you get flash mx email me here stevemarshall108@hotmail.com and i will send you a serial that works for the full version for ever!

I think the best one is RPG Maker 2003. It's so easy to make a good RPG.

Flashkit.com Read tutorials. Flash isn't the easiest thing to do, so don't expect to know what your doing.
Alright, so you want to start a game. Great. The general public could use more games to rot their minds away, I MEAN, entertain themselves. Anyway, here is the scoop in a nut shell.
First you might want to try different forms of struture and programming to see what you perfer to use. A lot of the web based, small time, cartooney looking games are made in a program known a Flash, developed by Macromedia. There have already been statements and links involving that one. If you perfer to become a very intense programmer, look into programming languages known as C and C++. These are programming languages that are widely used to develop all the larger name games as well as programs. From Windows to Quake, it covers a large area of modern programming. Whatever way you decide to go, you are going to need to do alot of studying to become a good game developer. If you are going for a simpilar game, try flash. If you want to impress people, use C++. There are many other forms of languages out there to try. For example, Java, which is the language that Runscape was developed and is updated in. I personally hate the crap out of that language because of its dificulty, unpopularity (if it is popular, more people can help you), and problems with compiling. Try sampling them to see if you like it. I will leave it up to you to decide the media you wish to create it in.
After you decide your media, you will want to develop the concept of the game. If it is a one man project, plot the game concepts at the same time you learn more about how to use the language or media to program it. What I mean by concept is the general story, characters, art/backgroung, and everything that goes with the visual and dramatic factor. You will probably spend less time on this than learning the language to program it in, but the concept is really the first step after making sure you know how you are going to achieve it (the programming language). Develop the general character/plot of the game at this point. Maybe make concept art of designs to be used. The main thing you need to find out is what kind of game you are going to make (1st person shooter, rpg, board game, etc).
Once you have a bunch of ideas on how you want the game to look and know what program/programming language you will use, this is when your choice in program will change your process. It is hard to set up a structure to follow when you don't know what language you are going to do it in and what kind of game. The reason is because the process of making a Flash game and a full fledged video game in C++ GREATLY differs.
For a better idea of how to work with programming, you can go to a book store and go to the programming section under "programming". There is generally a good couple of shelves dedicated to this. Flip through those and look at the differences in Flash, C++, Java, and other languages. Also 3d modeling will come into this field depending on how you decide to make it.
Game programming is a large field. Usually a C++ game is developed by a team of twenty to hundreds of different people. They will usually have there own tasks, like developing all the 3d models for characters, making materials to put on those character models, the language programming process for the engine, and so on.
I am sorry if this is not what you wanted to hear, but your question is to vague and directed probably towards probably the wrong audience. Books can be found at your local Barnes and Noble/Books-a-million to cover some of this. The programs are for sale at computer stores (Best Buy), and may be found other places.
One more thing....DAMN I TALK TO MUCH....that is all. See everyone around.

die you fucking scumbag. someone tries to help you out, and instead of saying thanks, you pull this bull shit? Get the fuck off this forum, scum.
Mr E. You explained it very well. This person is an idiot and should have a bullet put through his head. I'm pretty sure even flash would elude his mind. nice post man. Hopefully it will guide some more intelligent people on the right path.
