We all know the Impreza was never made for the drag strip, and to be quite honest it makes me laugh when people say its "slow" down the strip.
Who gives a fuck if it's slow on the strip...
Can a vette do what this can.....no wait...can any american car do what this can? (without dieing) ;)
I'm not hating on american cars you should know me better than that by now....running 9's is impressive but imagine the thrill you would get from doing this.

Holy shit, that was fucking awesome, storm. Rep for you. The only thing I didnt like and found annoying after awhile was the "popping" from the exhaust. Why does that happen? I've heard it before but never knew what caused it. This makes me want asubaru though, even more than before

Maybe a fuel mixture too lean...causing excess fuel to explode..
To be honest i'm not sure...ive heard a lot powerful cars backfire when the turbo is at full boost then a sudden throttle drop for the gear change..,
Explanations anyone?

If i'm not mistaken the impreza is around 20k. It just has tons of mods. If you wan the cream of the crop go with the wrx sti, around 30k. Well worth the extra 10k :)

Raw power and straight-line performance is the American way.

CO2 shifters
(well, I can hear the C02 shifters - but I also hear backfire).
Backfire - simple. The car is race built - open straight through exhaust. He's probably running a little rich and may have a short exhaust system. Unburt fuel still is hot enough to create energy, but only lacks O2. As soon as it hits open atmosphere, bang.

This is a known fact. Which is why you don't see rally races being held here or any american cars built for a rally track.
