Oh. I thought even after the first one come out and failed they just said that the next one was going to be the "Halo Killer". Looks actually pretty sweet though, except for the TERRIBLE flamethrower and no campaign co-op

I was able to pick up Killzone 2 from a Blockbuster video that was accidently selling it early. Currently i'm on the last stage but I haven't killed the boss yet.

The game isn't that great. It's basically another generic fps'er. 95% of the game you're killing the same Hig type over and over again (those bald guys with red eyes). It plays a lot like Call of Duty, in the sense that you have to keep moving to the next checkpoint or else the enemy keeps respawning. But it's a bit easier because you don't have to worry about raining grenades. The cover system is a bit cumbersome. Sometimes when you're in cover you can still get hit because your head is poking above the cover, which defeats the entire purpose of being in cover. To shoot from cover, you have to hold L2 to hide, then move the left stick to peek out, then R3 to zoom with your gun, then R1 to shoot. Even more fun is when you're equipped with the sniper gun and you have to press up/down on the digital pad to adjust zoom while doing all that.

The servers aren't online yet so I haven't been able to try multiplayer.

Anyway, this game feels like Call of Duty (checkpoints) mixed with Resistance (repetitive enemies). It doesn't really do anything new. The only reason this game is receiving a lot of attention is because of it's target render when the ps3 was doing tech demos. But the game itself is just average.

i agree with appleb based on the demo of course.

But ain't all fps just the same these days on consoles. The real reason to really buy these game is usually the multiplayer or for those who enjoyed the story and want to see it concluded.

Well if you're buying this game for multiplayer you might be disappointed. Apparently the cover system is disabled in multiplayer mode, and that's the only thing I can think of that makes this game different than other fps'ers.

Oh yeah, and the tank controls are HORRIBLE! Worst controls ever.

My favourite moment in the game was when there were 3 higs shooting me from behind a sandbag. I decided to rambo the sandbag... run up to it shooting, and duck on my side of the bag... so I run up to the bag and all 3 of them stand up and yell 'RETREAT!!!'.... wtf???

I finished the game yesterday on Easy mode, which unlocked Elite. Elite is very difficult... comparable to CoD:WaW veteran mode, but without all the cheapass grenade kills.

Anyway, like I said earlier, this game is kind of a mix between CoD:WaW and Resistance 2, but more like R2 due to the sci-fi theme. If you liked R2 you'll probably like this game. If you hated R2 you'll probably hate this.

Might just buy resistance one and then get two after i finish that. console fps's have never really been good. Halo only sold so well cos it was like the only fps for the xbox that wasnt some shit port.

Or stick with resident evil 5. the demo seemed fun. expect for when you shoot people, their reactions dont look like they've changed from res 4

Apparently it's easy to rank up in this game by creating a private game with 2 players and 28 bots on recruit difficulty. People claim to have reached maximum rank in 5 hours!

That said, is it a good game? I've read(on this forum) that you guys think it's just alright-nothing special. A lot of people here suggest that xbox basically "owns" the review sites because of the reviews that they gave some 360 games. If this game isn't even close to being great, I wonder why the review sites gave this game such great reviews.

Console FPS' have never been good?!? thats crazy. consoles pretty much specialize in those games (and sports games).

I can only think of half life as a better computer FPS than any console FPS, and thats on console now anyway w/ the orange box.

Also they don't really support good multiplayer until the next gen console ps3 etc. hmmm there are so many things i can argue against you but i really can't be bothered.
