In case you haven't MU-online is a free online multilayer game that's sort of similar to diablo II. The only differences are that it's free, has much better graphics, and it has allot more items/classes/skills.

Last week I dredged up that game again. I used to play MU-online quite allot a few years ago so I decided to give it a go again. It's changed quite a bit since I last played it. Apparently they've updated it allot.

Anyways, here's the server I'm on:

Anyone want to join me? :p
(no, I am not receiving any kind of benefit on the server by posting this...)

I played it for a couple weeks. Didn't like the grinding, so I switched over to some Heroes variation of it that gave you 100 times more experience, so all the users were over level 200 after a couple of hours. Then my eye swelled up, and I stopped playing cause I realized it was just another Korean grindfest and most MMOs suck.

If you think that was crazy, this one has 900x the xp. I was a bit set back at first but there're still allot of things that are hard to get which make the server a challenge.

Most of the fun in that server is in PK fights.

I always see the entire purpose behind RPG's, especially online ones:

Time=Reward

The balance between the time spent in the game and the reward received is pretty important. I think that's the reason behind WoW's success. You can easily just spend a couple hours time for a decent reward here and there. Even casual players that take several months to max out a character's level can still hit up an instance for some better gear. And the hardcore players can burn through a level in a couple hours.

Heck, just earlier today I nabbed about fifty gold in vendor trash and cash from mobs. Toss on the various auctionable crap, you're looking at another easy 200-300. That's just an hour's play time too.

I've played on a few servers for some games where they just hand you the maxed level, or a few million gold coins right off the bat. Kinda defeats the purpose in my eyes.
