View Full Version : Reasons to get a Wii

Because as far as I know, there are none.

-Can't play DVD's
-Literally has NO games, if you're getting excited over shovelware bullshit like Deadly Creatures, your console is in trouble
-Subpoint to above: can you name any good games without using the words "Wii" or "Mario"?
-Really shit graphics
-Really shit/nonexistant online
-VC is gay, no original content comes out for it (except megaman 9.) I can get Megaman 9 on my 360, and everything else I already emulated or even own.
-Only good games are terrible, sloppy ports of PS3/360 games. (Rock Band, Call of Duty 5)
-About 2 AI on the screen at one time.
-I hate the "INNOVASHUN INNOVASHUN" controls. It's a pain in the ass gimmick that often makes games worse. Metroid Prime 3? Would have been a fine game without the shitty controls.
-Sure, the price is pretty low (you pay for what you get) but it's IMPOSSIBLE to get, I'd need to camp outside of Best Buys in my area so I can get to play Imagine Party Babyz. Or I can spend 600 bucks online.
-Community sucks. It's 6 year olds and pedophiles. And soccer moms. And everyone except gamers.

But the worst part is how Nintendo has sold out over the years, I can't continue supporting them if they keep publishing crap to make a quick buck. Remember when Reggie Fils-Aime made one of his first public appearance and said something like "My name is Reggie, I'm about kicking ass, I'm about taking names, and we're about making games." Can you imagine him saying any of that today? Would probably scare off the soccer moms they've attracted.

So TL;DR give me reasons to buy back the Wii I sold yesterday, or reaffirm my decision.

i agree, the only game i can think of worth playing is super smash bros brawl. Even then it sucks solo player. Has to be played multiplayer.

It's only really worth it to get it for Brawl and some of the VC games. Zelda isn't an exclusive as you can get it for gamecube but that as well. Other than that, you got nothing really.

It's the most pathetic next gen console available.

After owning it for just under two weeks, Super Mario Galaxy has made my Wii a worthwhile console. I got it for Christmas as a gift, I'm finally enjoying it. I had fun with the basic Wii bowling for about a week but that obviously got old fast. I heard good things about SMG so I said fuck it, and went out and bought it. I haven't had this much fun with a Nintendo game since SM64. The level design is fucking incredible, just watch this level alone...

The only thing about this game that aggravates me is the "comet stars." I'm only about 1/3 of the way through the game, hopefully it stays just as fun all the way through.

That was the one game I had fun with before I sold my Wii. Very good game. Oh Okami was fun too but that was on PS2. And Twilight Princess was OK but it played it waaaay too safe. I hope the next Zelda is a Wind Waker-OoT hybrid in terms of gameplay, gee people liked OoT so lets copy the gameplay to a tee. I might RENT a Wii or borrow it if it is.

Everything else either sucked, or rocked for a very short period of time and then got very stale.

Well the reason to get a wii is for wii sports which girls love.

My x-gf loved wii tennis even tho she sucked at it.

Meh they were good when i was younger, from the video he makes even more stupid noises then previous games. Yeah i heard its a good mario game, just cos its a good mario game doesnt make it a great game. mario was fun when i was younger. But that video looked shit, he jumped up a few things and killed like 1 bad guy (what does mario fight these days? flying fish lol).
