Long time Ebaumsworld Chat Gone?

Hello mods and admins,

Sorry if this is not in the right forum I am going to post to several because I really would like an answer from whoever knows what has happened to it. The hearsay doesnt really tell me anything.


I have a few questions because I have been gone quite a while from this site since being overseas.

I used to go to www.ebaumsworld.com/chat.html and login to a Userplane based Video/Audio chat. It was great thats where I met a lot of my friends and usually 200 people were always on line. This was also about 4 years back. Now, the link is gone. I searched for it on userplane.com and could not find it.

I saw a new link on the side that said Live Chat. I tried that and it says we are updating. So my question is where has the Webchat I loved to go on gone? Has ebaumsworld totally abandoned Userplane.com webchat? Is there anyway to get in touch with the users that used to go on there? Would it be possible to re-enable that ebaumsworld chat based on userplane again? If it is a question of someone to maintain it and regulate users on the chat I would gladly volunteer some of my time and I am sure I can find some of the original chatters on Facebook who would also. I've already come in contact with a few and they told me some stories about a hacker. A shame because it really was a great chat. They would like to see it come back as well. Who would I need to talk to to possibly get the chat back up and running? Please feel free to private message me details on who to contact I can give more info about myself there.

Hey Joe, it's true that there are hot dogs in the chat. There is a very limited amount of condiments so please be advised.

Userplane was taken down because it was no longer supported. There was someone who had taken control of the chat and what was left of the Userplane Team had abandoned supporting the site. That being said, I'm trying to get them to get back to me about a vbulletin integrated version that even though it's outdated, it's still more secure than the version that we were using.

I am very sorry that it was taken down, but we are working on getting a new one up. A few of our options are Z5chat.com, Chatblazer or even trying to do something with TinyChat.

I put that up but haven't released it. I'm trying to figure out if it's going to be more secure. I'll update as I can.

Joe we now have a chat supported by Chatblazer and unlike the old blazer days we have more mods vice just 1, in case any srolling spamming or flooding occurs.
