Is it just my computer, or does everyone have an extra system tray icon displaying the downloading updates that stays at 0% all day??? Let me know if you guys have it, or that my computer is fucking with me.
It's been there for two days straight now, I'm fairly knowledgeable with computers, but this is just plain......Shit (and annoying)! help! :o

If using Windows XP, did you download SP2. I don't touch service packs, and my computer is good as new. I think it may be the SP if you have it.

Hey I almost forgot about that! I was planning to download SP2, but never got around to it. Thanks for reminding me, I'll see if that solves the problem. Reps to ya man!

I thought it the problem was that you had SP2 and it was doing this... I guess the SP's are ok, seeing as how Microsoft creates them. I don't use them but maybe that'll help.... Also, what's the name of this program? Who's it made by? Is there an un-installer? Can you remove it in "Add/Remove programs?

Edit: I would of repped you too, but it says that I've given out too many in the last 24 hours, sorry duder... :(

Just download it from Windows website, and follow its instructions:
backup, search for spyware, and install it. It'll take awhile since it's about 2 GB. But so far I've got no problems, and the icon's gone now. You can uninstall from the Add/Remove, the SP is listed.

Wow, SP2 is 2GB?! Jesus that's huge! Another reason why I don't use them.

Glad to hear that you got it sorted out though, bro. :)

Its gone because you've just updated windows with the latest service pack! It'll arrive again when updates are available. Just turn it off! Automatic Updates is fucking annoying
