I have a PS2 disc that is scratched and doesn't work. Is there any way I can clean it to get it to work again?

If you go to your nearest games dealer, they usully sell these things called "disk doctors" or something like that. They're not cheap but they fix the scratches.

Go to the hardware store and get some Brasso (Brass Polish). It's cheap and a bottle will last forever. Shake well and put some on the disk (scratches) and quickly rub the shit out of it with a soft cloth. It works best if you rub with the scratches.
Then let it dry and rub it off with another clean soft cloth.
Deep scratches will take allot of rubbing, but it works and won't fuck up your disk.
I've tried several methods to get out scratches, and this seems to work the best.

:p well you can go buy that polish stuff but what i do in the moment of frustration is take some windex, any type of window cleaner spray it on, don't be shy with it, then take a cloth, or paper towl and lightly take the access off, all the rest of it will soak into the scratches, oh by the way it will not harm the cd i have been doing it for years...

Don't buy disk doctors, all they do is keep shaving a layer off the plastic until the disk breaks. I highly reccomend polish.

This guy is right, those disc doctors "shave" away a layer of the plactic, revealing a new layer with no scratches, but if you do this, the cd becomes thinner and easier to break. Also, those disc doctors don't always work perfectly and can harm your disc. The polish and spray ideas sound good, although I don't know how they will truly remove the scratches (maybe just fill them in), but it will definately not harm the cd or the information, because the info is on the bottom part of label for the cd. My recommendation, once you get this scratched cd working, is to make a copy of it onto a new cd. Rather safe than sorry, especially if the information is important to you.
